MCU Theory - Scarlet Witch as Doctor Strange's apprentice?

Despite Endgame, Marvel is far from over. A new phase of the MCU is approaching, and one of its future films has particularly caught my attention, which will stage Doctor Strange, and also Scarlet Witch, who I hope will gain even more importance in the MCU.

A theory came to me: what if Wanda became Strange's apprentice in the future? Let me explain:

As we know, Wanda received her powers through one of the stones of infinity, the spirit stone. She therefore did not receive her powers in a natural way, and also did not receive the spiritual training necessary to control them well. Although powerful, Wanda is afraid of her powers.

The loss of Vision will not make it right, and after Endgame, Wanda could be completely lost in her life, and the fear and pain would only further compound the loss of control over her colossal powers. Who better to help her in this case than the master of mystical arts in person?

Strange, whose power is matched only by his wisdom, could then decide to take the young woman under his wing and teach her how to master her powers while maintaining her spirit and helping her to become mentally stronger. After all, Wanda's powers are mind-based, and she uses her hands to invoke her powers, as Strange does with his. In a sense, their powers are quite similar and it is this link between the two characters that I find very interesting. I think the two would make a good pair for the MCU. And I admit that the idea of Wanda becoming the apprentice of Strange and learning the mystical arts is such catchy!

Hero(es) of the Month - Edition N°22

For this new edition of the hero of the month, I will do a special edition 'cause this time, two heroes are honored at the same time, and for good reason, they are twins, and form a beautiful duet, their story is very touching: The Maximoff twins, Pietro and Wanda, known as Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.

Wanda and Pietro are from Sokovie, a country in Eastern Europe. When they were children, a shell destroyed the building in which they lived with their parents. Their parents were killed, but the twins survived, stranded for a day in the rubble, and one meter away from them, another shell that had not exploded. On this missile, they saw the name of the one they were going to hate after: Tony Stark, aka Iron Man. 

Driven by the desire for revenge against Tony Stark, Wanda and Pietro volunteered for the experiences of a man, Baron Strucker, a member of the terrorist organization Hydra, for the purpose of an experiment to create capable superhuman beings to compete with the Avengers. Wanda and Pietro were the only ones who survived Strucker's horrific experiences and gained powers. Pietro had the power to run at lightning speed, and Wanda had acquired the ability to manipulate minds and reality.

One day, the avengers managed to stop Strucker and shut down his weapons lab, but the twins fled, not without giving Hawkeye and Iron Man some trouble. Wanda and Pietro then teamed up with a robot, Ultron, Tony Stark's creation and wishing to annihilate the avengers, but what the twins did not know was that Ultron also had the plan to provoke a global genocide, in order to allow to the earth to start a new era. Wanda will eventually discover it by probing the spirit of the new body that Ultron plans to inhabit, the body that will later become Vision. Wanda discovers with horror the true plan of Ultron and fled with Pietro. A little later, the twins arrive to help Captain America as he fights against Ultron on a train. Ultron causes the derailment of the train, but the twins save the situation, Wanda using his power to stop the train and Pietro by saving people about to be hit by the machine. The twins will help the avengers against all odds to stop Ultron. 

During the battle against Ultron's army, Wanda and Pietro stand out and use their powers, Pietro destroying dozens of robots in seconds with his speed, and Wanda, at first shocked, takes on herself and unleashes its powers on machines to reduce them to pieces. Towards the end of the battle, Ultron takes the ship of the Avengers and uses the weapons to shoot Hawkeye. Pietro, seeing this, sacrifices himself by walling with his own body and is riddled with projectiles under Hawkeye's eyes. Sensing the death of his twin brother with her powers, Wanda sinks into sadness and anger. Among the ruins, she finds Ultron, dying in a train carcass. Guessing that he is responsible for Pietro's death, she uses her power to tear the heart out of Ultron and decides to let herself die here. But while the part of the city is about to explode to pieces, Wanda is saved by Vision, who comes to pick her up, takes her in his arms and flies with her in the sky. Wanda, now alone, decides finally to join the avengers and becomes a member of their group.

Paris Manga 2016

I do not often have the opportunity to go to rallies or fans conventions, but the 4th November, I could go to the Paris Manga convention with my sister, our main goal was to meet the actor Charles Dance, the special guest of the first day of the convention, and was present only on 4 November in Paris.

For the convention, I did not come in cosplay, but for the opportunity to meet a GOT actor, I put all my assets related to the series: my t-shirt with all the sigils GOT, my pendants Targaryen and Stark, and my Targaryen hat. To begin, when I arrived at the place of the Convention, I felt immediately like in paradise. Dozens of stands everywhere, selling all sorts of things: figurines, posters, clothes, and a lot more diverse and varied. Most things were related to the Manga universe, which is understandable with the name of the convention, but several of my favorite fictional universes were present, as Game of Thrones, Star Wars, Marvel and DC comics, and also some mangas I watch like Pokemon, Fairy Tail, Attack on Titan....

Of course, no surprise, there was a stand dedicated to Star Wars, but even more, the most iconic droid of the saga, I mean of course R2, was present, and came to say hello to people who came to see him. When I wanted to take a picture of him, he came to me and stopped, as if to pose for the photo. It was really funny.

But the nice characters of Star Wars were not the only ones to be present. The soldiers of the Galactic Empire were also there. Stormtroopers and Imperial officers, all armed, and I even thought I saw the Emperor Darth Sidious. I could not resist the opportunity to take a photo with the Empire (what? I'm a traitor? Yes, it is possible, and after?)

One of the highlights of the day was the Game of Thrones conference that I attended, with the three actors from the series invited for the event. I could see Ellie Kendrick, who plays the role of Meera Reed. Keisha Castle-Hughes, who plays Obara Sand (but also the role of the Queen of Naboo in Star Wars Revenge of the Sith), and finally, the exclusive guest, Mr. Charles Dance, aka Lord Tywin Lannister (who also played the role of Dr. Clemens in Alien 3). During their arrival on the scene, the whole crowd (me and my sister included), have applauded and encouraged them with all our strength, to show them that we love them and that France loves Game of Thrones. Charles, before sitting in his seat, even took a photo of the crowd with his phone. Hearing them talking about their experiences in the world of the cinema was really interesting. Ellie Kendrick knows how to speak French, and she has a very good accent, and she said that her favorite character is Brienne of Tarth, 'cause she's really badass. Charles Dance said his favorite character was Tyrion, and told us that each time he apologized to Peter Dinklage for all the wickedness that he had to tell him in the scenes they played together. I would like to ask them a question, but I have not been chosen from all the people who had questions. Oh well, it will be for a next time.

I ended my day in Paris Manga with the moment I was waiting for several months forward. After giving my ticket, I could enter the small studio or were professional photographers. Charles Dance was there for the photo session with fans. As GOT fan, it was a real honor to shake hands with Charles Dance, talk to him and take a picture with him. An unforgettable memory that I keep preciously. Charles is really nice, smiling, and has a great personality. As many fans were waiting after me, I could not stay long with him, but I was able to exchange a few words with him. A big thank you to Charles Dance for his visit to Paris and Paris Manga to have invited him to the event.

( WARNING SPOILERS) Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice review

WARNING SPOILERS, if you have not yet seen the film which I am told, do not read the following article.

Today I went to the cinema to see a movie I was waiting with great pleasure and also a lot of confidence. A film that seemed to have been much underestimated before its release, yet critics are good: Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
DC has marked my childhood, especially Batman, so here's a quick summary of what I thought of the film.

Black and blue. Day vs Night. God vs Man.

When I was a child, I watched my heroes save the world, and today I saw them face to face, for the first time.

After the tragic events that nearly destroyed Metropolis, Superman is frowned upon by many people because of its strength and its destructive powers. And among these people there is Bruce Wayne, who does not forgive to Superman for all the innocent lives that were lost in the fights. Batman also knows that Superman would be able to destroy humanity if he wanted to, and therefore Batman considers Superman as a threat to eradicate, and decides to act. But that's not counting Lex Luthor, who will enjoy this confrontation for more ruin the image of Superman, 'cause he wants to show him to the world as a demon, not a guardian angel.

The film lasts more than two hours, and the first hour is devoted mainly to the development of the characters and the world they live. No really action, but very very interesting to watch because it laid the foundations of the film and we have to be careful if we want to understand the following. And it also allows us to see the situation where live Batman and Superman. Bruce Wayne is still torn by the death of his parents, his years of struggle against crime and now the omnipresent threat that is Superman in his opinion. Superman, despite his relationship with Lois Lane, knows he has done as much harm as good around him and he has to live with that, everyday. Henry Cavill is excellent in the role of Superman, and I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of Ben Affleck as Batman. Very good casting.

For those hoping to see non-stop fighting, you may be disappointed, but do not worry, towards the end, there is the much awaited scene: the fight between Batman and Superman. Batman perfected his outfit and carries a reinforced armor to better absorb the blows (really badass armor by the way). Batman uses the whole arsenal available but can not hurt Superman, who with one hand, manages to throw Batman in the air. Batman then uses a secret weapon:  projectiles of kryptonite stolen to Lex Luthor, and he use them to weaken Superman. The fight did not last very long, the two heroes are fighting with determination and violence, and against all odds, Batman manages to take over Superman, and is about to kill him with a spear of kryptonite. Superman then reveals that he is blackmailed organized by Lex Luthor, who owns Martha, the adoptive mother of Superman, as hostage. Hearing the Martha name, which was also the name of his mother, Batman was during few seconds like plunged back into his past and realizes that he is about to do the same thing as the man who killed his parents: he is about to kill and to become a murderer. 

The scene of the fight between Batman and Superman remains for me the most badass and striking scene of the whole movie. See a mortal, just with his weapons and gadgets, fight against a kind of living god with devastating powers. Wow! And even if he can not defeat Superman physically, Batman still manages to give a hard time to Superman. But after, the battle ends with a kind of reconciliation, which was a little sloppy for me.  

Because yes, this is where the real villain of the story appears: Doomsday, the infernal creature created by Luthor, and has the same force as Superman. And to help Superman and Batman in their fight, another hero emerged: Wonder Woman! So yes, she had appeared before in some scenes, in civilian clothes, and she seemed spy Bruce Wayne, also as if she was looking for something. She is played by the Israeli actress Gal Gadot, which for me has become the new face of Wonder Woman, so much I found her badass (and super sexy;) ). Only negative about her: her character was not enough developed and I wanted to see more, and also see her fighting a little more against Doomsday. Superman was a bit much put forward during the fight against Doomsday, because Batman is not really active, but it's true that as a human, he is more vulnerable to attacks from Doomsday.

And to preserve the surprise I will not tell how the film ends, but many will be shocked, as I've been.

And to finish, I give to the movie: 8/10

Villain of the Month - Edition N°4

Hi humans, and welcome to a new edition of the "Villain of the Month".

In this edition, the most famous villain of Batman, and also one of the most emblematic of the DC universe. The king of crime: the Joker (In this article, I'll talk about the Joker of The Dark Knight) (RIP Heath Ledger)

In The Dark Knight, the Joker is a criminal, but his peculiarity is its goal: he wants no money, no power, what he wants is chaos, just chaos, and also the desire to demonstrate that the world is not as safe and comfortable as the politicians want to make believe to people. His main target is Harvey Dent, an influential and respected attorney and loved by all, which promises a better and secure future for Gotham. The Joker is intended to terrorize and spread death in the city, and also to break Harvey Dent, little by little, to make him fall into the same madness that him, to demonstrate that even the most influential and powerful people are not not immune from becoming heartless monsters.

The Joker is a unique criminal. First, he had the face disfigured by two scars on each side of the mouth, giving it a macabre smile. When he talks about his scars, he invents a past every time, but you can feel his hatred and pain when he speaks, but it's as if he took pleasure in talking about it. The Joker is a very cruel man, who does not hesitate to kill even his own associates. The other highlight of the Joker is his intelligence. He's a criminal mastermind, he always seems to have a step ahead on the police and Batman. The Joker prepares its plans with a truly amazing efficiency, giving him an almost demonic appearance. The joker doesn't care about the money (in the film, he burns a pile of money without remorse), he manages to manipulate others and uses it to take control of the underworld of Gotham. The Joker is also one of the few criminals not to be afraid of Batman. Instead, the Joker even says he does not want to kill Batman because he "amuses him", and as he said to Batman "You complete me". Joker's insanity is to such an extent that he even seems to have no fear of dying (The Joker is still the only villain to laugh when he falls from the top of a building)

Of course, the Joker has gone mad, that's what gives him his character, but the most interesting is that he knows he is crazy and doesn't try to hide it, instead, he wants to make the world as crazy as him. The Joker also has a sense of humor very macabre, often involving the suffering and death as jokes (like the scene where he kills a man of the underworld with a pencil, saying doing a magic trick to make it "disappear" ). The Joker is a villain, but he is part of the category of villains we love, because they are so complex, so badass and epic, that they almost steal the show at the main hero.

To have become an icon of an entire universe, a criminal mastermind feared by all, and also a villain with a unique personality, the Joker deserves its place in the list of the iconic villains.

In the embrace of the Black Widow: my first Marvel love

Last Sunday I went to the cinema to see the new movie Avengers, the age of Ultron. During the film, my feelings for Black Widow, one of the female characters of the group, have finally woken up. When I saw the first movie, I already loved the character, her character, her fighting techniques, her appearance, but it was remain there. And it was not until the second film for this to become a true love. My first Marvel love.
Black Widow has no powers, but she has an extraordinary agility and highly effective fighting techniques, she can defeat multiple enemies simultaneously. She also knows how to use weapons, she is really sexy and badass, and she's a woman with a strong character, and I really like that in a woman. And in her leather outfit, she is hot as hell and I love her red hair and her so beautiful face!! <3 <3
I also like her past, even if it was hard. Trained from an early age to kill is something striking. She was with the hard and cruel people, who did everything for it to become a professional killer, and she has become. But I was really sad for her and shocked when I learned that she had become barren because of an operation. No one should suffer such treatment. But despite that, I love her and I always will.
