My meetings of the London Comic Con

This July 2018, I lived what will remain one of the best moments of my life: The Comic Con of London.

For this important event, I met four actors playing in Game of Thrones, and one actor who played in Star Wars:

Comic Con of London, Day 1

Vladimir Furdik (Game of Thrones)
The very first guest I met at this Comic Con, is my favorite villain of Game of Thrones, and also among my favorites in general. He is the greatest threat of Westeros: Vladimir Furdik, the actor and Slovak stuntman playing the leader of the white walkers, the Night's King himself. Being a fan of white walkers, as much as with giants and dragons, it was a dream come true for me. Vladimir is a very discreet person, who does not speak much, but he has an incredible presence and a eye of steel, you almost have the impression that he pierces you with his eyes when he looks at you. It's the gaze of Night's King, that's what I felt. For the photo, when he put his arm around my neck, I felt almost crushed, because he has strength. If he had wanted, he could have broken my neck like nothing.

Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones)
The guest I was praying to meet, because before, I was supposed to meet him at the convention in August, but he had to cancel for personal reasons, which is his right. But before, he came to London's Comic Con, and luckily he did not cancel this time. The only one is the unique Iwan Rheon, aka Ramsay Bolton, one of the most outstanding and cruel characters in Game of Thrones, a character worthy of the Joker's madness. While Ramsay is a monster of the worst kind, Iwan is just the opposite. Smiling, very friendly, he puts people at ease and talks with them. He is also very humble and does not think of himself as a superstar. I could not talk to him too much because there were a lot of people to take photos with him, and besides, he was behind schedule and apparently had a plane to take later, so his agent was a little urgent. Even though it was very short, it was a very strong moment for me to meet him and talk to him.

Comic Con of London, Day 2

Rory McCann (Game of Thrones)
For the second and last day at Comic Con, I met another actor I wanted to meet for a long time because he plays one of my favorite characters from the entire GOT universe: Rory McCann aka Sandor "The Hound" Clegane! I had trouble realizing that I met him, especially when I saw him for real. He is a giant, both in size and talent and inside, I was like "OH FUCK O_O". On the photo, I'm trying to make a tough guy's head, but I realize how ridiculous I look beside him XD. Rory is calm, discreet and after all, it's his right. Once again, there was a lot of people for a photo with him, so the meeting was short, but remained engraved in my mind, forever.

Ellie Kendrick (Game of Thrones)
This time, an actress, and not least: the lovely Ellie Kendrick, aka the intrepid, little but courageous, Meera Reed. Even though Meera is not considered as a main character, I am among those who love the character and care about her. She is a badass, she is among the rare characters who killed a white walker, and I also hope she will come back for season 8, to fight the army of the dead alongside the others. Ellie is really adorable, and it does not show in the photo, but I had to bend my legs a bit to not exceed the frame of the studio, they had adapted it to her size (she is 1 meter 55, and I am 1 meter 86).

Ray Park (Star Wars)
The last guest I met at this comic con was not the least. This time, I realized a childhood dream, which I had been waiting for years. Ray Park, actor and stuntman who played one of the most badass siths in the Star Wars universe: Darth Maul! One of the villains who marked my childhood. I remember being a child, when I watched Star Wars episode I, I thought this villain was so cool and dark. If I had been told one day that in many years, when I would be an adult, I would meet the actor of the character, I would not have believed. Ray is awesome and dynamic, he took his time with each person to talk to them and ask them what pose to do for the photo. For my part, I asked for a dynamic pose, and that's what we did. He is a martial arts pro, and it shows immediately in the poses he does, he has training. He is also very friendly with the fans, because when it was my turn to meet him, he shook my hand very hard and said "Hi man, who are you?" almost as if he was talking to a friend.

Finally, it was a really memorable experience, to meet these actors who play characters that I love a lot, but also to make my first comic con abroad. If I can do it again someday, I will, but it will depend on the guests who will be present.

Villain of the Month - Edition N°19

Hellcome followers, for the new edition of the Villain of the Month. This month, go back in a galaxy far far away, to discover one of my (personal) favorite villains in the Star Wars universe: He's the supreme leader of the First Order: Snoke.

There are many theories about Snoke, for example, some think he would be the first Jedi, having shifted to the dark side, others think he is Darth Plagueis, the former master of Sidious and supposedly dead. Well, it's unlikely, because Snoke is described as not being a sith but a powerful being on the dark side. The origins and race of Snoke are unknown, he is described as a humanoid, bald, with a disfigured face and very old appearance.
The goal of Snoke is to see the new Jedi order disappear, and for that, he will not hesitate to corrupt Ben Solo, son of Han and Leia and apprentice of Luke, so that the latter switches to the dark side and destroy the new Jedi temple. Snoke will train Ben on the dark side and give him a new name: Kylo Ren. Snoke will then try to find Luke Skywalker, the last Jedi master in all the universe and will also show an interest for a young human woman, Rey, from unknown origins, discovered on Jakku and having a great connection with the Force.
Rey will be brought by Kylo Ren to Snoke in his throne room, and Snoke will not fail to show his mastery of the Force, and will not be intimidated by Rey's toughness against him, on the contrary, he laughed about. Unlike palpatine who wanted to find a more powerful apprentice, Snoke shows no interest in Rey's power and even demands that Kylo kill her, showing a very (too much) great confidence in his power. This is what will cause his loss as he once again showed his skills for the mastery of the Force, Kylo Ren takes the opportunity to activate the lightsaber of Rey, which was placed on one side of the throne, which pierces Snoke and cuts him in two. The great leader collapses on the ground, having been deceived by the one who was his apprentice and determined to take his place as supreme leader.
For my part, I was very shocked (and even disappointed) that Snoke died so fast. Played by the excellent actor Andy Serkis, a badass style, a clearly visible power, Snoke is an already iconic villain who deserves better. For my part, I choose to believe that he is not totally dead. If the Jedi can return as spirits of the Force after death, it is confirmed that Dark Side Adepts can too. Snoke could then come back as a dark side spirit, even more powerful than when we was alive, and could haunt Rey by trying to corrupt her to the dark side and push her to kill Kylo Ren. Snoke could even mention Rey's parents to stir up her anger.

May the Force be with you Princess - My farewell and tribute to Carrie Fisher

Today, the world, even more, the entire galaxy is in mourning. It is with a heavy heart and drowned in sadness that I says farewell and pay tribute to a great woman who was a very good actress but who by her role as the Princess Leia became a symbol of the childhood of many people, including myself. I discovered Star Wars when I was a kid, and Leia became one of my favorite characters in the Star Wars saga. A female character with a strong mind, a leader, a queen .... I'm shocked to learn that Carrie Fisher died on that cursed day of December 27, 2016.

She had had a heart attack, and although she was in a stable state, it was not enough. It is with sadness that I say farewell to our dear galactic princess whom we shall love for ever. We love you, Carrie Fisher, thanks for everything you've done for us. You have joined the Force, and we will never forget you. :'(

Carrie Fisher
RIP
May the Force be with you, forever and beyond
Another star leave our world to join the sky

Villain of the Month - Edition N°16

For the release of the movie Rogue One, I honor the most emblematic character of the franchise Star Wars and one of my first and favorite childhood villains: THE lord sith, Darth Vader.

Before becoming one of the biggest threats in the galaxy, Vador was called Anakin Skywalker, and was destined to become the savior of the galaxy, the one that would bring balance. But by a tragedy arising from the death of his wife, Padme, and a conspiracy orchestrated by the Lord Sith, Sidious, Anakin lost his mind, sank into total anger and became what he had sworn to fight, destroying the Jedi Order rather than save it. Severely wounded by Obi-Wan and burned all over his body, Anakin had to receive implants and cybernetic members, and permanently wears an armor, without which he can not survive. Formed by Sidious in the path of the dark side, Vador sowed terror throughout the galaxy, eradicating any threat likely to harm the empire. But one day he found the traces of Luke and Leia Skywalker, two young brothers and sisters who turn out to be his children, born to their mother Padme before she died. During this adventure, Vador will reveal to Luke who he really is, which will have a very strong impression on Luke (and we can understand why lol).
However, Luke, increasingly persuaded to be able to bring his father back to the right side, succeeded in making Vador doubt about what he is (in the discussion scene on Endor, when Luke, seeing Vador denial of reality , Says that his father is really dead, and Vador, remaining alone, plunges into a kind of thoughtful silence, so we can think that he reflects on what his son has just told him.) And when Luke, brought before the Emperor Sidious, tries to kill the latter, then enters a fight between father and son, of which Luke emerges victorious after he cut the cybernetic hand of Vador. Sidious, thrilled by Luke's brutal power, tries to corrupt the young Jedi, pushing him to kill his father and take his place, but Luke refuses, refusing to become a soulless machine. Sidious, furious, decides to kill Luke by lightning, and for a moment Vador remains silent, wounded, watching his own son being killed before his eyes. It is then that the spirit of Anakin returns to life, regaining real consciousness of who he is, and seizes the emperor. Electrocuted by flashes of force, Vador, returning as Anakin, throws his old master into the void, ending the reign of the emperor and the sith lord. Thus, Vador / Anakin, completes the prophecy to which he was always attached: defeat the sith and bring back the balance. This was his last act of bravery, because Anakin died shortly afterwards, weakened by his wounds and desirous of wanting to die in peace after having done so much harm around him, knowing that his children, Luke and Leia, would do better, to reestablish the order in the galaxy.

In all history, Darth Vader is one of the most tragic characters, and epic villains, as much by his appearance, his personnality, or his breath. Formerly good and promised a bright future in the jedi order, he became a soulless and heartless killer, destroyed by the influence of the dark side and the death of the woman he loved. What a drama!!! Vader is surely one of the most dangerous and powerful sith, mastering the force with disconcerting ease and handling the lightsaber as an elite. Moreover, its cybernetic members give him a superhuman strength. Vader is also without pity with his own allies and does not hesitate to kill those who disappoint him, which earned him a terrifying reputation among the officers of the empire, who fear him above all else. His armor was made to inspire terror, to keep him alive, but also to make him suffer permanently while remaining alive (a punishment inflicted by Sidious to punish him for have not killing Obi-Wan Kenobi).

Paris Manga 2016

I do not often have the opportunity to go to rallies or fans conventions, but the 4th November, I could go to the Paris Manga convention with my sister, our main goal was to meet the actor Charles Dance, the special guest of the first day of the convention, and was present only on 4 November in Paris.

For the convention, I did not come in cosplay, but for the opportunity to meet a GOT actor, I put all my assets related to the series: my t-shirt with all the sigils GOT, my pendants Targaryen and Stark, and my Targaryen hat. To begin, when I arrived at the place of the Convention, I felt immediately like in paradise. Dozens of stands everywhere, selling all sorts of things: figurines, posters, clothes, and a lot more diverse and varied. Most things were related to the Manga universe, which is understandable with the name of the convention, but several of my favorite fictional universes were present, as Game of Thrones, Star Wars, Marvel and DC comics, and also some mangas I watch like Pokemon, Fairy Tail, Attack on Titan....

Photo with BB-8!

Of course, no surprise, there was a stand dedicated to Star Wars, but even more, the most iconic droid of the saga, I mean of course R2, was present, and came to say hello to people who came to see him. When I wanted to take a picture of him, he came to me and stopped, as if to pose for the photo. It was really funny.

But the nice characters of Star Wars were not the only ones to be present. The soldiers of the Galactic Empire were also there. Stormtroopers and Imperial officers, all armed, and I even thought I saw the Emperor Darth Sidious. I could not resist the opportunity to take a photo with the Empire (what? I'm a traitor? Yes, it is possible, and after?)

One of the highlights of the day was the Game of Thrones conference that I attended, with the three actors from the series invited for the event. I could see Ellie Kendrick, who plays the role of Meera Reed. Keisha Castle-Hughes, who plays Obara Sand (but also the role of the Queen of Naboo in Star Wars Revenge of the Sith), and finally, the exclusive guest, Mr. Charles Dance, aka Lord Tywin Lannister (who also played the role of Dr. Clemens in Alien 3). During their arrival on the scene, the whole crowd (me and my sister included), have applauded and encouraged them with all our strength, to show them that we love them and that France loves Game of Thrones. Charles, before sitting in his seat, even took a photo of the crowd with his phone. Hearing them talking about their experiences in the world of the cinema was really interesting. Ellie Kendrick knows how to speak French, and she has a very good accent, and she said that her favorite character is Brienne of Tarth, 'cause she's really badass. Charles Dance said his favorite character was Tyrion, and told us that each time he apologized to Peter Dinklage for all the wickedness that he had to tell him in the scenes they played together. I would like to ask them a question, but I have not been chosen from all the people who had questions. Oh well, it will be for a next time.

I ended my day in Paris Manga with the moment I was waiting for several months forward. After giving my ticket, I could enter the small studio or were professional photographers. Charles Dance was there for the photo session with fans. As GOT fan, it was a real honor to shake hands with Charles Dance, talk to him and take a picture with him. An unforgettable memory that I keep preciously. Charles is really nice, smiling, and has a great personality. As many fans were waiting after me, I could not stay long with him, but I was able to exchange a few words with him. A big thank you to Charles Dance for his visit to Paris and Paris Manga to have invited him to the event.

Villain of the Month - Edition N°13

For this new edition, we come back in a galaxy far, far away, to see a very interesting and badass character who joined the list of the great iconic villains of the Star Wars universe. The fallen Jedi, with the coolest lightsaber that I have ever seen: Kylo Ren.

In the story of Star Wars, Kylo Ren is the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, born from their union after the episode 6. As his mother and his uncle Luke, Kylo Ren developed deep links with the Force, and when he was enough old to learn, Luke took him as an apprentice, with other disciples, hoping to create a new generation of Jedi, and perhaps revive the great Jedi Order from the ashes. Unfortunately, an evil lord called Snoke, managed to bribe Kylo Ren, making him fall into the dark side, and took him as an apprentice. That's at this moment that Ben Solo, took the name of Kylo Ren and let himself sink slowly into the darkness, by taking example of his grandfather, the legendary Darth Vader.
On the Starkiller base, as the squad of the resistance attack the first order to try to destroy the main canon, Kylo Ren finds his father, Han Solo, came to save Rey, but also to try to bring him back in the good side of the Force. Initially, Kylo feels shared, wondering if he would be enough strong. Han said he is ready to help, and Kylo accept, but not like Han would have believed. With his lightsaber, Kylo kills his father, under the horrified eyes of Chewbacca, Rey and Finn, powerless in the situation. And that's without remorse that Kylo watching Han fall into the void, disappearing forever into the mists of the base.
Later, Kylo finds Finn and Rey in the forest to prevent their escape. At first it was Finn who engages in combat with lightsaber against Ren, but despite the injury of Kylo inflicted by Chewie, Finn is quickly defeated and severely wounded in the spine. But under the astonished gaze of Kylo, it's Rey who gets the lightsaber with the Force which manifests itself more and more into her. Kylo then fights against it in a violent struggle still, and even after attempting to bribe her, promising to teach her the way of the Force, Kylo is defeated and wounded by Rey. It is not known what happened to him after the destruction of Starkiller, but we can think that he survived and joined his master, Snoke.

One of the most interesting points of Kylo Ren is his personality. He's a tortured character with a tragic past, corrupt from an early age by an evil spirit, who uses him for his powers. Many people have unjustly accused by saying that Kylo Ren was a villain "weak" and even "ridiculous". I disagree. Kylo Ren is young, and as said Snoke at the end of the film, he has not finished his training. Ren still feels at times the attraction of light, tearing him in half, one side wanting to close eyes and remain with Snoke, and another, wondering if he really does the good choice. And that's what I find really interesting with Kylo Ren. We don't know which side he'll finally choose in the end. Leia thinks that somewhere there's still good in him, and I think also.
One of the weaknesses of Kylo is his too great confidence in him. We see that he feels omnipotent, that he believes no one can defeat him, and that is precisely what plays tricks on him throughout the film. He thinks that no one can resist his powers of persuasion, and Rey manages to resist. He thinks she can not win against him with a lightsaber, and she defeated him. I think over time, Kylo will learn from his mistakes, he will become more vigilant but even more strong, determined and evil, especially under the influence of Snoke.

For his personality, his story, to have become the new villain for the new Star Wars trilogy, and one of the icons of the episode 7, Kylo Ren deserves its place in the list.

See you next time, in a galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens: My point of view and feelings about the movie

SPOILER ALERT: If you have not seen the movie, don't read the article.

Wednesday, December 16, I went to the cinema, with my mom and my sister, to finally see the most anticipated film of the year: the seventh film of the legendary saga Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
I will make a summary of what I thought of the film, the new characters, my positive and negative points, and the note that I give to the film, to say whether I am happy or not.

Of course, I had to get a picture in front of the beautiful poster that was inside the cinema.

Once the Lucasfilm logo appeared on the screen, I was already in a trance, and when the Star Wars logo has appeared, with music from the intro that started, I was smiling like a little child, very excited and happy to finally be there to see the film.
In my personal opinion, I really loved the movie from beginning to end. I am not bored for a second. The universe is remain true, with some novelties, but great. New characters are all welcome and interesting. My favorites are Rey, a girl who plunders of wrecks to survive in a desert, tomboy, sexy and ready to hit where it hurts to defend herself. And she is sensitive to the Force. Badass <3. And also the Captain Phasma, commander of the new stormtroopers, as well as first female villain of Star Wars! Badass <3. The other characters, Kylo Ren, Finn, BB-8, Poe Dameron and Snoke are also really interesting and each of them has his place in the movie. No one is useless.
Finn made me laugh at first, because he is a little guy, afraid, who always tries to flee, but he is also disturbed by what he saw and he questioned himself to discover who he really is. A deep and very endearing character. Kylo Ren is a very interesting and particular character, because he is torn between the dark and light side, without really knowing what direction to take. Sometimes we feel sorry for him because it's just a lost young man who was been brainwashed, and that worships Darth Vader. The only disappointment I had, is at the final battle scene, when Ren was defeated, a little too easily, for me. But he is not dead, suggesting that he will come back, stronger. BB-8 is really funny, he made laugh several times, and I hope he will be in team with C3-PO and R2-D2, and want to see all the three together in a mission, it could be fun.
And of course, what a joy to see the iconic characters of the saga coming back in this film. Han Solo, Chewbacca, Leia Organa, C3-PO, R2-D2 .... And at the end of the movie, surprise, Luke Skywalker! Throughout the film I felt such emotion on seeing again these characters that have rocked my childhood when I discovered the first Star Wars movies. That night, I was dropped back to childhood.
For me, The Force Awakens is a great return of the saga, and a very promising first movie of a new trilogy that is epic announcement. Han, Leia and Chewbacca, fortunately, their mentality has not changed. Han is a little wiser than before, and he seems most respected the Jedi and the Force.

My Positive points:
- The universe has remained faithful, and the music has not changed much and it also remains very true to the Star Wars universe. Awesome.
- The New characters and the return of the old characters, and the meeting between the two generations. Great idea, I love it!
- Action, drama, humor, tenderness ..... Everything that makes a Star Wars movie, and it's present in this one too.
- References to the original trilogy, for example the wrecks of Star Destroyers crushed in the desert, remnants of the old Empire, and also, the helmet of Darth Vader, mummified and charred, in the Kylo Ren's room. Wow!
- The end is epic! When Rey is on the planet, and meets Luke Skywalker. This moment has an intensity and incredible emotion. After that, you ant to see more! I want the sequel right now damn!

My Negative points:
The character of Captain Phasma is cool, but unfortunately not enough exploited and appears very little. And no fighting scene with her. Too bad, it could have been cool though. Maybe in the next film.
- Warning, Big Spoil: The death of Han Solo! Fuck! You should have seen my head when it happened, I was shocked, frozen in place and mouth open, and all the rest of the room too. The scene is dramatic, really sad. It was to add drama to the story, ok, but Han was one of the iconic characters and one of the most beloved of the saga. I don't deny that scene, it was played very well and worked, but for me to kill Han Solo was a bad idea. And poor Chewbacca and Leia, damn, I was sad for them! :'(

But still, The Force Awakens is a very good film, I look forward to seeing it again when I'll buy it on DVD. I give it a score of 9/10.
Star Wars is back motherfucker! \m/

I fell in love with the Light and the Dark side

Don't worry, there is no spoils in this article.
Wednesday of this week, I'm going to finally see The Force Awakens, the new film of the Star Wars saga. I expected this film since the beginning of the year, and although the wait was worth it. The movie was great!!! Not perfect, few details that have displeased me a little, but so great nonetheless. I was not bored for a second. I will not say anything more, just my personal opinion, oh just one thing (No it's not the spoil, be reassured): now I'm divided, because with this new film, I fell in love with two new characters. One is on the side of light: Rey <3 (Played by Daisy Ridley). And the other is in the dark side: Captain Phasma <3 (Played by Gwendoline Christie).

The new SW characters I'm waiting the most

Tomorrow night I go to the cinema, to finally see the long awaited Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens. I can hardly contain my impatience. Do not worry, after seeing the film, I will not write about it on my blog, because I don't want to spoil (I also want to stay alive).
Who says new film, says new characters, and this time, many new characters announced for the new movie, to our delight (except the purists). So among these new characters, some attract me more than others, but I will mention the two that intrigue me most and for who I'm waiting the most.

Captain Phasma
Finally, a female villain in Star Wars! And she's a stormtrooper commander! Very very interesting and badass. For me, who have always liked strong women, I have a good feeling for this character. I already bought the action figure of Captain Phasma, it's to say how much my feeling is good. Nothing is known about this character because she is not much shown in the trailers, so I'll find out everything tomorrow.

Rey
Another intriguing character, but on the side of the resistance this time. According to the scenario, she is plundering the wrecks, which seems logical because in one of the trailers, she is seen rummaging the wreck of a Star Destroyer. But otherwise, it is difficult to really determine the role she will play, because no information was showed (which is normal after all). But hey, I'm anxious to see what is her role in the story and I hope to have a good surprise with her too.

Hero of the Month - Edition N°4

Hellcome humans for the last edition 2015 of "The Hero of the Month"

For the month of Christmas, and also to celebrate the release of Star Wars 7, the hero of this month is one of the most powerful, wise and respected of the whole Jedi order: Master Yoda.

(Yoda):"Approve this, I do."
(Me):"Yeah, thank you Master."

Yoda is a Jedi highly respected and also really powerful, so strong that he got his place to the council, and during the Clone Wars, he became a general, also very respected by his troops. Yoda is the older Jedi of all the order, he trained Jedi since over 800 years.Of the six films (soon seven), Yoda appears in 5 of them. It's in the episode 2 that for the first time, we finally see Yoda out his lightsaber and fight in duel against his former Padawan and now Sith Lord, Count Dooku. Yoda is one of the few Jedi to survive to the order 66 and finds refuge on the planet Dagobah, a giant and slimy swamp. But over the years of loneliness, Yoda has become a bit less serious and more joker, but when Luke Skywalker tells him its true purpose, Yoda shows that it has always remained the same and decides to teach him the way of the Jedi. But in episode 6, Yoda is so old that got sick and lost all his strength. And that's after revealing the true origins to Luke, the most powerful Jedi, lying in his bed, gently close his eyes. Yoda dies without suffering, and a few seconds later, his body disappears to merge with the Force. But anyway, Yoda is not really dead, as his mind becomes one with the Force, allowing it to live forever, as a spectrum, like Obi Wan, and later, Anakin Skywalker.

When we see Yoda for the first time, we can say that he is not dangerous, but it's just the opposite! This is the worst mistake to make: to underestimate Yoda. Despite its small size and advanced age, Yoda is a very agile warrior, powerful and truly formidable. He uses besides its small size to better dodge the blows of his enemies while jumping in the air with his lightsaber with really fast acrobatics. Yoda is even the only Jedi enough powerful to challenge Darth Sidious and have a chance to defeat him. If Sidious is the embodiment of evil in SW, Yoda represents the light and wisdom that fight the darkness.
Yoda has a very deep connection with the Force, so strong that over the years he seems to have acquired powers that only he possesses. For example, Yoda is able to see the future, but an uncertain way, because always in motion is the future. Yoda uses the Force as he wants, almost as a weapon (for example, in episode 3, he manages to knock out two guards of Sidious with a simple backhand, to send them against the wall)
Yoda is also the only one able to absorb the Force lightning with his hands, and even send them back at his enemies.
For me, Yoda is the perfect definition of "Don't be fooled by appearances."

To become a symbol of Star Wars, and one of the world's greatest sages and warriors, Yoda deserves his place in the list of the iconic heroes.

See you in 2016 for the next edition!

The Empire Strikes Back....Again!

Seeing the title of the article, you are probably wondering what I mean, well, I'll explain.
As everyone knows, Star Wars 7 is the biggest pending worldwide, even before the movie is released in theaters, the phenomenon is so intense that millions of dollars and euros of merchandising have already been won, even exceeding the budget of the film itself, before its release, this is a crazy thing!

SW is everywhere, I already know that since a long time, but today I could still see better. Tonight I went to the supermarket with my mother and my sister. Of course, the shelves were flooded with SW merchandising of all kinds, but the most impressive was the supermarket's entrance: a giant model of TIE Starfighter was installed, and two stormtroopers stood near the model, as for the defend. Nice promo for the movie. Many children made pictures near the stormtroopers, and of course I could not resist, and myself, I made a photo with one of them. Really cool. Jokingly, I thought "they hired Stormtroopers as new security guards to monitor the supermarket." And of course, in every corner of the store, there were posters of Star Wars, with on the posters, Kylo Ren and two stormtroopers. Them again! OMG, they are everywhere! :D

And even today, I added a new figure to my collection. Not a figurine GOT this time, but a SW figure: Captain Phasma, the female stormtrooper who will lead the troops in the new film. She looks really badass. This character really intrigues me and I want to discover her, hoping she will have an important role in the story. In addition, she is played by Gwendoline Christie, a very talented actress that I greatly admire.
For the figure, no disappointment. The size is correct, the figure is very well detailed, joints are fluid and not too fragile. In short, very good action figure for the collection of any fan of Star Wars.

May the Force be with you \m/

Who is the Captain Phasma?

As we approach the release of the seventh Star Wars movie, I increasingly impatient at the idea of seeing the familiar characters, but also to discover new, and one in particular that intrigues me really but who looks really cool: Captain Phasma.

Finally! I'm glad they finally decided to put a female villain in a Star Wars movie! A Stormtrooper Commander, with a different armor and weapon, to show her superior rank. I find really interesting the concept of a female stormtrooper, something that was absent in the other films. But otherwise, which is the Captain Phasma? Almost no information about her, in her origins, her career, her past or her relationships, but I'm sure we will learn more once the film is out. And another point that satisfies me is that by putting a woman in command of the stormtroopers, Star Wars has shown that this is not a sexist universe, and that a woman can command troops of the Empire, and it's really cool, I really like that.
Phasma is played by the excellent actress Gwendoline Christie, aka Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones, and I am very happy with this choice because Gwendoline's a great actress, very talented, and above all with a unique charisma and perfect for the role of strong women (so, the role of a Stormtrooper commander, I have to say, she is made for that!) I look forward to discover this new character. Oh and one last thing: Her armor is sooo badass!!

Matt Thargar: My Star Wars Alter-Ego

Who has not yet imagined being a jedi or live in the SW universe for real? Being a fan since childhood, I imagined myself how I would be in Star Wars, and here's the description of my Alter Ego and his story.

Matt Thargar was born on the planet Mandalore. He is the son of Daenia Thargar, a rich woman with long silver hair, senator and a close friend of the Duchess Satine. Daenia was known to be a woman with a great mind and fair, and had more and more influence in the Senate. Matt has never known his father, this one having died before his birth. All he knows is that his father was a great captain aboard a military ship of Mandalore. Matt spent his childhood on Mandalore, but the politician life doesn't interested him. During his childhood, he does not really have many friends and spent most of his time in his bedroom. This isolation made him dark, almost unsociable, which worried Daenia.
But Daenia having more and more influence, she became a target, and one day, terrorists named Death Watchs, were paid by Count Dooku to kill her. One day, as she climbed aboard her personal shuttle to go to a meeting, Daenia was killed in the explosion of a bomb hidden in the engine of the shuttle. Mathias saw everything that happened, from the balcony of his room.

Matt had time to go in the street to take out the body of his mother from the rubble of the shuttle, but it was too late, Daenia was already dead. Taking his mother in his arms, Matt had the broken heart and the pain awoke something in him that he always had, but he did not know: the power of the Force. Invaded by sadness and anger, Matt unleashed his gift unintentionally, and debris from the shuttle were thrown into the air, like magic. Destroyed and terrorized by what he had done, Matt flees. Duchess Satine, a great friend of his mother, was very saddened by the death of Daenia, and managed to find Matt and offered him her help. But blinded by sadness and anger, Matt refused and fled again. During 3 years, he wandered like a hermit in the streets of the city, feeding himself as he could and being forced to steal to survive. He attended the gangs, and was haunted all this time by the death of his mother, which made him even more aggressive and dark. But one day, while he fighted against three men in an alley, he was spotted by the Jedi Master Plo Koon, who came with Obi Wan kenobi, to investigate a spy case involving the Duchess Satine. Plo Koon felt great anger in Mathias, but also a great link with the Force, with an energy as he had never felt before. Having calmed the young man and a long discussion, Plo Koon managed to convince Matt to come to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, and Matt was agreed, considering now he was nothing on Mandalore.

Thus Matt came to the temple and was presented by Plo Koon to the Jedi Council. All felt the force in him, especially Master Yoda, who was quite surprised to feel such anger in one person. But Mace Windu feared that this anger and the pain were too dangerous to form him in the Jedi training, however, Plo Koon was confident of being able to help Matt to channel his hatred and make him become a great Jedi. The majority of the council members have accepted to let a chance to Matt, but only Mace Windu was reluctant to that.
Plo Koon became the master of Matt and for several years, Matt followed the advices of his master and progressed very quickly, especially at the lightsaber combats. Among his group, Matt was the first to found his crystal, at the bottom of an ice tunnel, where he had to, in the darkness, facing a creature he was unable to identify, and he managed to throw the creature into a crevasse by using the Force. All he could describe of this creature is that it was "humanoid, with long white hair and bright red eyes, emitted an intense cold from her body and whose the roar sounded like the crackling of the ice." Although he was the first to find his crystal, Matt was the last to exit the cave, just few seconds before the frozen door closed completely.
Matt made his lightsaber (is crystal being blue), as he imagined, in a metal of Mandalore, and he adorned the tip with a small silver dragon head, as the dragon has always been the symbol of his mother. But his crystal was so powerful that his lightsaber needed a crossguard to not explode, and now form a blue lightsaber with a laser crossguard, Matt being among the very rare Jedi of the history to have get a lightsaber model like this. Matt would not wear the traditional dress of jedi and only wears black clothes with a large black hooded cloak, for he said that black has always been his color and he felt good like this. Plo Koon had no objection, but many council members were not certain of this choice. Matt also leaves his long hair and his goatee on his chin. Matt had become one of the strongest padawans in the lightsaber combats, but he scared the others because of his offensive techniques too and its aggressiveness in combat, Plo Koon remarked that from the start. Matt found it hard to channel his anger and Plo Koon felt at several times the young man's desire to hurt, especially to those who had killed his mother. Plo Koon taught the ways of the force to the young man, making him meditate and saying to him that revenge is not the way of the Jedi. Despite his choleric temperament and lonely, Matt was a very good padawan. He was allowed to leave with his master for a first mission, on his home planet Mandalore. Together, Plo Koon and Matt stopped an espionage group who attempted to infiltrate the planet defense networks to sell them to the separatists. Among the group of spies, Matt met a man, who was the one who under the orders of Dooku, had put the bomb in the shuttle of Dania, to kill her. Carried away by his anger, Matt killed the man by piercing him with his lightsaber, before Plo Koon have time to intervene. Later, Plo Koon came to see Matt, who sat in silence, thinking. When he asked him if he felt good, Matt replied with this phrase "better than ever." in a tone quite dark and with a smile at the corner of the mouth. After the mission, Duchess Satine wanted to thank the Jedi, and recognized Matt even though he grew up. However, after what Matt did, Plo Koon had no choice to make him pass in front of the council. Matt was severely reprimanded for killing a man "by revenge." When Yoda asked to Matt if he wanted to say a word, Matt did not answer, but one thing, very calmly: "What's done is done, and I have no regrets." Faced with these words, the council took the decision to punish Matt, and for five months, the young Matt remained in the protection of the archives and far away of the fights. It's during these five months that he met for the first time Ashoka Tano, a young female togruta, also punished and forced to protect the archives 'cause she disobeyed to her master, Anakin Skywalker. Day by day, Matt and Ahsoka became more and more friends, and a frendship was born.
One of the greatest feats of Matt was on a mission to Naboo, where Matt managed to destroy 15 battle droids with the force, and throw them all on the ground to destroy them. And during another mission, on Coruscant, he managed to capture the bounty hunter Cad Bane, and sent him to prison.
But Matt's training was not without fault because a day, taken by a violent fit of anger, he threatened Mace Windu, with his lightsaber. Plo Koon managed to calm his padawan, but this act only reinforced the distrust of Windu to the young man.
During his formative years, Matt often went to see Master Yoda, to confide about his anger and feelings about his past, and Yoda did what he could to help the young man to find his way. Matt met the other jedi of the temple, regarded Plo Koon as a father, and Master Yoda as a mentor. He became friends with two other jedi in particular: Aayla Secura, a female Twi'lek Jedi Knight, and he became good friend with another Padawan: Emi Takori, a young human woman. Among all the Padawans, Matt is a solitary, spending most of his time alone. Plo Koon said once to the council "I have never seen a novice with such anger in him, but without being affect by the dark side."
And finally, Matt, like Ahsoka and Emi, received the rank of Jedi Knight, which strengthened the confidence of the young man and lessened his anger. Soon, he spent more and more time with Ahsoka, and fell in love with her, and the feeling seemed to be mutual. But the law of the Jedi forbade any love relationship, and they knew it. Mutually, they told their past, their memories .... Ahsoka was very sorry about Matt's past, but at the same time, it strengthened her sympathy to him and she became even closer to Matt. And finally, one day, Matt took Ahsoka on Mandalore, in a large residence located in the countryside. This second home belonged to Daenia, and Matt was therefore the heir. While they were on the balcony to watch the sunset, Matt took his courage and confessed his sincere feelings for Ahsoka, and she told him she loved him too. Ahsoka and Matt kissed for the first time. This kiss strengthened their love even more, and so they began a secret relationship, but very sincere. Over the months, Matt and Ahsoka continued their relationship. Several times a week, Ahsoka joined Matt in his apartment, or vice versa, and they spent the night together. One night, the couple made love for the first time, but Ahsoka did not get pregnant, which in a sense reassured the couple, who did not want children, at least not yet, not to rush things and risk that their relationship being discovered.
Matt and Ahsoka continue since their love relationship without revealing it to anyone, and now the biggest secret desire of the couple is to marry and have children.

Villain of the Month - Edition N°2

Hi all and welcome to the second edition of this new section, the villain of the month.

Last month, for the first edition, I presented the Night's King of Game of Thrones. Well for the editing of this month, we will leave the medieval world to go into the intergalactic space, but we will stay in the horned villains.

This month, the big one is the Sith lord and one of the most epic Star Wars villains, Darth Maul.

In the six Star Wars movies (soon seven), Darth Maul only appears in the first, where he plays the role of the main villain. Maul's mission is to find the Queen Amidala and take her back on Naboo to force her to sign a treaty with the CSI and at the same time, Sidious commands to Maul to kill the two Jedi, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi Wan, that protect the queen.
One of the features of Maul is his appearance. He is not a human, but a Zabrak, a humanoid species from the planet Dathomir, characterized by the horns they have on the head. But Maul also has the face completely covered with red and black tattoos and his red eyes are so piercing, that we could think that he scans your soul and guesses your fears just by looking at you. The eyes of the born killer. Wow.
But also, in the movie, Maul doesn't talk much, which adds a even more dark and mysterious side, because we don't really know what he thinks. And when he speaks, he has a serious and sinister voice that suits perfectly to the character.
And another feature of Maul is that he has a double lightsaber and he uses it with incredible efficiency. Maul has a fighting style both very acrobatic and aggressive, which makes of Maul a formidable fighter and very difficult to overcome. Even two Jedi knights, at the same time, have difficulties to fight him. During the final battle, Maul even manages to kill Qui-Gon, one of the jedi and main hero of the film. But soon after, Maul is cut in half by Obi-Wan and falls into a pit, disappearing into nothingness.

But contrary to what one might think (WARNING Spoil) ......
Maul is not dead. Although he was cut in half, he used his Sith training to survive and in The Clone Wars series, he is found, half mad and lost, by his brother Savage Opress. Maul is returned to Dathomir or he receives the help of his brother and the mother Talzin, a night sister. With her powers, Talzin built robotic legs to Darth Maul to enable him to walk again, and she cured him of his madness to remind him who he really is. And of course, the first reflex of Maul is to want revenge of Obi-Wan.
Finally, as a Sith, Maul has a sadistic mind and use all deceptions to take over his opponent. During his fight for revenge against Obi-Wan, he doesn't hesitate to remind, sadistically, to the Jedi, that he killed Qui-Gon, and for the first time, Obi-Wan seems to be invaded by anger. Sadistic.

Dark. Strong. Cruel. Sadistic. All these words define Darth Maul, and for that, he deserves his place in the most epic villains.

See you next month for the Third Edition and to
discover a new villain.

Top 3: my Favorite Star Wars Villains

The Star Wars universe is filled with villains cults and incredible, but I like some of them more than others. I like many villains of the SW universe, but here are my top three favorites.

1. General Grievous
In first place, the most dangerous and powerful General of the droid army: Grievous. He has a tragic past and was manipulated by the Sith. Formerly organic, it has become a very powerful machine and dedicated to one thing: exterminate the Jedi, whom he considers them as responsible for his fate. I also admire Grievous for his personality and also for his unique fighting technique with lightsabers, such as when it's rapidly turn his lightsabers as if it were circular saws, or when he uses his four arms at the same time, he becomes even more dangerous. Grievous is truly unique, with a strength and agility out of the ordinary, he can overcome a battalion of clones without problems and he managed to spread terror among the Jedi during the Clone Wars, and just to hear his name gave chills to certain Jedi.

Respect.

2. Darth Maul
One of the most dangerous Sith, in my opinion. Darth Maul doesn't talk much in the first film, but that's what makes him darker and more disturbing. The first time I saw Maul, I immediately liked the character. His gaze that freezes the blood, and also his fighting technique with his double lightsaber. Maul mastery the force very effectively and he manages to do stunts and acrobatics that left me gaping at my screen. Also, he can face two Jedi simultaneously and give them much trouble. Maul even managed to kill a Jedi master, Qui-Gon Jinn, which is one of my favorite jedi of the Star Wars universe.

3. Cad Bane
I discovered Bane in the Clone Wars series, and I liked this character. First by his rather cynical character and relaxed face to the situation, and also by its very cool outfit, with his big hat and coat, like the outlaws from the time of the conquest of the west. I admire Cad Bane also because he managed to escape the Jedi several times, even to escape Obi Wan, Windu and Anakin Skywalker, and also, he managed to break into the Jedi Temple and steal a holocron without get caught. With his blasters and rocket boots, Bane can fly around his enemies while strafing them from all sides. Badass. I always liked villains like him, able to cause big troubles to those who are more powerful than him.
