RIP Aleah Stanbridge - Tribute and farewell to a Metal angel

Removed my hat, hand on chest, with a heavy heart and tears on my cheek. I write this small article this evening to pay a tribute, and I'm really sorry for the fans who will discover it by this article.
This April 18, 2016, the world of metal is again in mourning following the death of Aleah Stanbridge, singer of the Doom/Gothic metal band Trees of Eternity. She passed away because of a fucking cancer (Fuck you cancer!), While she was just 39 years old.
With her angelic and deep voice, like an angel of darkness, mixed with a dark metal and melody, Aleah had a bright future with Trees of Eternity and already was, for me, a very talented and beautiful singer. But fucking fate has decided otherwise. An angel of metal joined the sky today, towards the Rockers and Metalheads paradise. My condolences to her family and friends. Farewell Aleah, may you rest in peace forever. The fans raise their hands for you and sing for you tonight. She joined heaven, but her angel voice will continue to resonate in the hearts of metal fans, forever \m/ \m/

\m/ Rest In Peace Aleah Stanbridge, Angel of Metal \m/

Slender: The Eight Pages

For some months now, I downloaded a game on the Internet. An independent horror game, which for many has become a reference and who has done much about him when it was released in 2012. I am of course talking about Slender: the eight pages, first in a long series . Being a big fan of horror, paranormal and monsters, I could not resist the urge to dive into this game and face the famous Slender Man.

The game's storyline is very basic: you play as an anonymous character, described as a young woman, and you are lost in a forest at night. The goal is simple: find eight pages of paper, all wearing strange writings and drawings related to the Slender Man. And of course, to win the game, you have to reach to find the eight pages before Slender Man kills you.

Very simple and rather short, it depends on the time you put to find the pages or be killed by Slender Man, but otherwise the game is very good and deserves its reputation. The graphics are quite basic but not ugly, the game having been made with a small budget, but that's good job, well done Parsec Productions.
The atmosphere of the game is very much felt. A dark and very oppressive atmosphere. No music, no noise except the footsteps of your character and the wind blowing. No weapons to defend themselves, the only solution is flight. Your only equipment: a flashlight, you absolutely must keep lit to avoid getting lost in total darkness. The location of pages on the card is completely random, making each new game, unique in some way. The eight pages have a decisive influence on the game, because the more you retrieve pages, and more the atmosphere becomes gloomy, and more Slender Man becomes dangerous and might kill you. And do not expect to find help in this game, you are alone.
Your only enemy in the game is the terrible Slender Man, this monster who became famous for his appearances on photos published on the Internet. In the game, Slender Man appears at the moment when you find the first page, and therefore, he tracks you without stopping. He can appear anywhere. It is highly recommended to not turn back because he can be behind you, near or far. Slender Man does not move, he just stays motionless and is watching you, which makes him even more terrifying. Do not look at him too long at the risk he kills you. Sometimes, Slender Man can appear in front of you suddenly (I lived the experience), thus forcing you to flee immediately, and make you take a different path, as if he was playing with you. Yes, Slender Man loves to play with his prey.
For now, my personal best is 6 pages found on 8 but I still try and one day I hope to get to find the eight pages. Meanwhile, I highly recommend this game if you like to stress and have fear in the dark. I give to this game a score of 8/10.

Villain of the Month - Edition N°9

With my correspondence courses, there are times where I could not publish much, but this time, I have time, so I present the villain of the Month: This month, we meet a monster that is become a truly global phenomenon, starting on internet, but now in the world of video games and movies also: the Slender Man.

Slender Man is a paranormal creature, described as a devil or an evil ghost, faceless, tall, thin, dressed in a black suit, which kidnaps people, especially children, to kill them. Initially appeared on a series of photos on the internet, Slender Man has seen his popularity grow over the years, and even became the first true Internet phenomenon, making himself known worldwide. Slender Man has become so popular that today he is one of the best known creepypastas in the world, he has been mentioned in thousands of fan stories, in hundreds of small horror films, and he even was entitled to its own series of horror games: Slender. The purpose of these games is very simple: find the eight pages before Slender Man reaches to catch you. However, the last game, Slender: the Arrival, has a richer and pushed scenario, plunging deeper into the Slender Man myth. Yes, a myth is created around the legendary monster, making him even more complex and real to us. It is even said that its origins date back to the Middle Ages. A song was even created for Slender Man, by Zip Zipper. A slow and dark melody, with children's laughter and macabre singing, which defines very well the monster.

Physically, Slender Man is like a man, but very tall (almost 10 feet high). He has a bald and pale head, faceless, which prevents guessing its expressions. His arms and legs are very thin and disproportionate, like the fingers of his hands clawed, which looks almost like branches. He wears a black suit with a black tie sometimes, sometimes red, it depends. Yes, Slender Man is a monster, but a monster who knows how to dress himself. Slender Man has many powers. First, he can teleport himself, which makes him even more dangerous, and it becomes impossible to escape. He seems bind to the trees, because he is often in forests, at night and of course, you will meet the monster and become its target. Once he took someone as target, Slender Man leaves him no respite, making the life of the person like hell, to the point to make him crazy and break the morally before killing him, or turn him into a proxy, a creature resembling a ghoul and serving Slender Man. Because yes, the Slender Man also has servants, mostly humans being transformed.
He can also make appear tentacles of his back, to move faster, or also to catch his victims. Slender Man appears to influence the electrical systems, because when he's present, the lights start to flicker, and the cameras fail or sizzle. Slender Man has no pity for his victims, regardless the age. In general, he does not kill its victims immediately, preferring scare them first, see them panic and run, see them attempt to flee while it's impossible, thus showing that Slender Man is a sadistic monster who likes to play with his prey before devouring it.

For being a global phenomenon, one of the most famous monsters in the world of the paranormal and an icon of fear, Slender Man deserves his place in the list of the greatest villains.

Top 3: Most Beautiful Metal Songs

This is my ranking of Metal songs that I consider as the most beautiful of all. If you are not agree, well, too bad, tell me your own ranking in a comment if you wish. I respect your choice, if you respect mine.

1. Motörhead - Till the End
One of the songs that has most marked my mind and I listen to almost every day at least once. Also a song that made me shed tears more than once. And if you say "but you put this song in first because that's Motörhead", well, leave this page immediately and never come back because I do not accept such a judgment unfounded. I did not put this song in the first only for his melody, but especially for its content and words. It's a song-testament, written by Lemmy for the last album of the band, because Lemmy knew it was his last album. This song tells the story of his life, the man he was, he saw the world change during his life but he remained the same but above all, and also do what he wanted to do, until the end. The most beautiful song ever written and created.

2. Metallica - Nothing Else Matters
Basically, it's James Hetfield, lead singer and guitarist of the band, who had the idea to write this song. It was a time for a tour, while he was away from his girlfriend, he dedicated a song to her, and as the words say "so close, no matter how far." He wanted to show her no matter the distance between them, he would always love her. What better proof of loyalty and love to write a song like that, and this song has now become one of the best known of Metallica now.

3. Halestorm - Familiar Taste of Poison
This song is as the investigation of a novel or a thriller. A woman was found dead (Lzzy playing the role of the woman), and everything suggests she was murdered (poisoned to be specific). The inspector (played by Joe, the band's guitarist) must investigate and discover later that it's the husband (played by Josh, the bassist), who poisoned his wife. The song's lyrics are very deep, the music is very beautiful, very sad, and you really feel disappointment of the inspector at the end, although he arrested the murderer, that he does not have could save this woman. Very touching. It's only a video, but it made me feel really bad to see Lzzy Hale, one of my metal crushes, as a dead body.

DiscoveRock Edition N°13 - Special Legend Tribute - Metallica

Another DiscoveRock for April 2016, but this time a special edition legend, and again, a group that has marked the history of metal and the minds and hearts of millions of fans through the years: Metallica.

Founded in 1981 by the singer and guitarist James Hetfield, and the drummer Lars Ulrich, Metallica is today one of the most popular metal bands in the world, perhaps even the most popular. In any case, it is recognized as the metal band having sold the most albums worldwide: over 100 million albums sold. A record never equaled to this day. Respect. Metallica is one of those intergenerational groups, which mark as the spirits of people who have seen the birth of the group, like the young people who discover them, including myself (I'm born in 1993). The group is well recognized as one of the "Big Four" of the Thrash Metal, although Metallica style leans more towards heavy metal. A year, they even made a concert in San Francisco, with a symphony orchestra, which gave a very surprising result but very beautiful, giving Metallica songs a symphonic metal touch very pleasant to listen. As Motörhead or AC / DC, Metallica is known worldwide and is also known, by reputation, even by people who do not necessarily listen to metal music. Metallica can make quick and very loud songs, as it can also make slower and quieter songs, but just as beautiful, "Nothing Else Matters" remains one of their best success to my eyes. Having played on stage with their idols, especially the late Lemmy Kilmister who inspired them much, Metallica was able to climb the ladder with his music and entered into legend. A group that I recommend very strongly, even mandatory, for any new metal fan.

Members:
- James Hetfield (vocals and rythm guitars)
- Lars Ulrich (drums)
- Kirk Hammett (lead guitars)
- Robert Trujillo (bass)

Auto-tune = Shit

I am writing this article to express my thoughts on something I don't understand and also to bear. Some may be désacord and others may like that kind of singing, but not me, and I don't give a fucking care about the judgments, this is my opinion and I express it.

The auto-tune, for those who don't know, are the voices that are processed by a machine, to distort the voice in some way. To be honest, for me the only ones that use it are singers who can not sing. I can not even describe the auto-tune as a singing style. And I do not understand how so many people, especially young people, can listen and love it. I listen to a lot of blues and rock music from the 60s and 70s, and many young people have been surprised to my musical tastes, like if I was an alien. For me, it is rather them who are strange with what they listen to. And yet I am part of this generation, but I don't follow the line. I follow my own way, I found my own way. As I like to say: "All I know is who I am and what I want to be."

For the anecdote, the other day, I went to eat a kebab, and the only music that was heard inside was rap with auto-tune singers. I wonder how I get to eat and to endure this shit in the same time. I thought my ears would bleed after a while so it was unbearable. But thankfully after I went to a bar, or there was true music: Rock music motherfucker! \m/
That's, for me, the auto-tune is not a sing, it's just a machine that distorts the voice just because a singer has not a good voice and he distorts it to make it better, but it's quite the opposite.

That's my opinion

Hero of the Month - Edition N°8

Hellcome today a very special hero comes in the spotlight, 'cause inspired by a real person, on the appearance and character. This is one of the legendary figures of Brutal Legend: the Kill Master (or Lemmy kilmaster")
I dedicate this article to Lemmy Kilmister (1945 - 2015)  (RIP my hero) \m/ \m/

The Kill Master seems to be known in the region and even feared because nobody dares approach his den, which is at the top of a large hill. But Lars, one of the other heroes of the game, knows that the Kill Master took this nickname to keep intruders away, because yes, it seems that Lemmy kilmaster is a solitary man and want to have peace, but especially because he wants to protect its breeding of giant spiders. But the Kill Master is best known for his healing powers, which he uses with his music. Indeed, his bass strings, made of metal spider web, can provide miraculous care, provided that the injury or illness is curable or that the person is still alive. Lemmy seems to multiply the strength of his power using the strings of the spider queen, the queen of metal. After saving the life of Ophelia with his healing powers, Lemmy agrees to join the team of Eddie, Lars and Lita, to help them fight the general Lionwhyte and free the world of metal from the grip of the demons . During the whole adventure, Lemmy rides a big motorcycle that he built himself, and able to heal people. He will also bring with him his henchmen, bikers who can also heal units during battles.

For the design of the character, you have probably guessed, Lemmy Kilmister, legendary bassist and leader of Motörhead, lent his appearance to the Kill Master, and even doubled the original voice of the character (the French voice was made by the great Marc Alfos who did a great job).
I can say it, Lemmy is the Kill Master, this is not just a character creating for the game, it's Lemmy as he is. The guy with a bit gruff appearance, solitary, but basically has a big heart and is an exemplary humanity. I find the idea of making him a bassist able to heal people through his music is a great idea, because it is true that Motörhead music in some way is an excellent curative means against stress or depression, for my part, the songs of Motörhead have boosted my morale more than once when I was not feeling well.

Lemmy has not only left a legacy and an indelible mark in the world of music, but also in the gaming world with this sublime and unique character: the Kill Master. For this, he deserves his place in the list of the most iconic heroes of all time, in real life and in fictional too. \m/
