Facebook is not a competition

Another point I already knew before, but I decided to finally talk about here is this mania that people on Facebook, asking as many people as friends, in order to have a maximum and feel surrounded.
For the person who has more than 1,000 friends on Facebook, and if most are strangers to him, I want to say: Ok, but what's ahead for you? It does not make you an important or famous person. And also, it's useless. Facebook is not a fucking place of competition, understood?
For my part, I have less than 250 friends on Facebook, and it suits me perfectly because I know I can count on them.
If your goal is to have a maximum of friends and does not know more than half or never talk to them, or just to get a maximum of "likes", it's useless.
The number is just a number, nothing more and it does not make you superior.

DiscoveRock Edition N°6 - Special Legend Tribute - Motörhead

I know that normally I published one edition of DiscoveRock once a month, but this time I'll make an exception. I publish the edition No. 6 Also in January, but not for any group. I do it for a legendary band, Motörhead, and in tribute to Lemmy Kilmister. This special edition is for him, and intended to make discover this great band to those who don't yet know them. If you have friends or children fans of rock who don't yet know Motörhead, show them this article.

Fast. Powerful. Legendary. These are the first words that come to mind when talking about Motörhead. Created in 1975, and over the years, the group has forged a solid place in the world of Rock, with its unique style, to become one of the world's most legendary rock bands. In 40 years of career, Motörhead has released 22 albums and made non-stop worldwide touring, and for that, I say respect. Motörhead is known to be the band playing the strongest in the world, and I am witness, twice, that's the truth. Lemmy Kilmister, the leader of the group, more than a great musician, was also a man of great humanity, for him, the money and fame did not matter, all he wanted was to can do what he wants: to drink his whiskey, go to see girls, and playing fucking Rock N Roll. Unfortunately, the band was disbanded in 2015, following the death of the singer and founder of the band, Lemmy Kilmister. But the legend of Lemmy and Motörhead will live forever in the hearts and minds of the fans and their music will continue to resonate in the air. For those who don't know them, if you love Rock N Roll, speed and powerful, you will surely love Motörhead.

Members:
- Lemmy Kilmister (vocals and bass)
- Phil Campbell (guitars)
- Mikkey Dee (drums)

My 2 Motörhead gigs: The most Rock N Roll shows of my life

We all have favorite bands and concerts that mark the spirit more than others. This happened to me the two times I saw my favorite band of all time, Motörhead. I was supposed to see again the band a third time in February 2016, but unfortunately fate has decided otherwise. Fuck you fate and fuck you cancer.

1. Motörhead - Airbourne -
Tarja Turunen - Blackrain
(Hard Rock Session - August 10, 2014 -
Colmar)
The first time I saw Motörhead! A day I could never forget. My father, who is also a fan of the group, came with me. You should have seen me, I was like a kid. Motörhead was at the Hard Rock Session 2014, with three other groups, but of course Motörhead was headlining. At first I was a little worried because the weather had announced rain, but there was none. When Motörhead arrived on the stage, everyone (including me and my father) began to scream and applaud to welcome the group as required. When I saw Lemmy for the first time, arrived on stage with his bass, inside, I was like a child who sees his hero in real life for the first time.
"Good evening! Are you alright? We are Motörhead, and we play Rock N Roll!" What a joy to hear this, for real. While Lemmy was emerging from a difficult period, and although the group played a little slower than usual, the concert was excellent and I did not see the time passing. My father and I headbanged like crazy, and we sang songs. We were like children. For the concert, we were on the side of Lemmy. I had some great photos during the concert, but my only regret is to not having videos.

Setlist:
1. Damage Case
2. Stay Clean
3. Metropolis
4. Over the Top
5. Guitar solo
6. The Chase Is Better Than the Catch
7. Rock It
8. Lost Woman Blues
9. Doctor Rock
10. Drums solo
11. Just 'Cos You Got the Power
12. Going to Brazil
13. Killed by Death
14. Ace of Spades
15. Overkill

2. Motörhead
(November 18, 2014 - Zenith, Paris)
And only a few months after my first time, I come across an ad for a Motörhead concert in Paris. And as I live near the capital, I could not resist and bought a ticket. My father did not come with me this time. During the trip, I was excited to see the group, even more than the first time. If my first concert was very good, the second was even better. Lemmy was in better shape, and the band played a lot faster. I was both happy to see again the band, but also to see that Lemmy felt better. I could not imagine that this was the second and last time I saw Motörhead live. But at least I had the chance to see and hear them in real life, and I keep wonderful memories of these two shows. Thank you Motörhead. Thank you Lemmy. And Rock N Roll! \m/

1. Shoot You in the Back
2. Damage Case

Playing Rock N Roll....Till the End

Motörhead's latest album, "Bad Magic", has become a favorite of me and one of the best albums of the band, in my opinion. Among the songs, one of them particularly marked me. The song is called Till the End, and why is it different from the others?
Well, for starters, it is much quieter than other songs, more melodic and with a tone more melancholy too. In the song, Lemmy seems to speak of himself and his life, as a sort of autobiography in a song. He said for example, that during his life, times have changed but he knows he can not go back in time. He also said that no one can tell him what to do with his life, he knows what he want and what he is, so he was the only master of his destiny, and that is true. In the song, Lemmy also said that our memories are only ours, and they are until we return to dust.
This song is very beautiful and has a sad side, as Lemmy speaks as if he knew that the end was near and that he wanted to express it. Now every time I listen to this song, I have a lump in the throat and a heavy heart, but I remain strong and I listen.
The fact that this song entitled Till the End is in the latest album by Motörhead, is like a sign, because yes, Lemmy did what he wanted to do and he did it: he played the Rock N Roll .. ... Till the end.

Lyrics:
Don't tell me what to do my friend
You'll break more hearts than you can mend
I know myself like no one else
Nothing to defend

My life is full of good advice
And you don't have to tell me twice
Living here in paradise
Your rules that I should bend

In my years my life has changed
I can't turn back the time
I can tell you just what made me change

All I know is who I am
I'll never let you down
The rest will give you trust until the end

There ain't no rules to follow
You cant predict tomorrow
I know just who my friends are
The rest can turn to stone

Your memories are yours alone
There yours until your dust and bones
I know the things I'm looking for
I know just what I want

In my life the times have changed
I'm still in a rush
I don't want to hear your fairytales

All I know is who I am
I'll never let you down
The rest will give you trust until the end

UNTIL THE END

In your life you'll be amazed
About all you long to lose
You cant never live that life again
But one thing you will never lose
Is the signing in your head
That will still be with you till the end

Villain of the Month - Edition N°6

Hellcome humans, for a new edition of the "Villain of the Month."
To start the year 2016, in the spotlight, the most iconic and dangerous villain of his world, an incarnation of power and evil: Sauron, the Dark Lord.

In the story of the Lord of the Rings, Sauron was a Maia, very powerful entities and endowed with many powers, originally created to do good, but Sauron is evil.
It was he who was behind the creation of the rings, to install a kind of union between the races, but it was a trap, because Sauron, in the fires of Mount Doom, forged in secret another ring, much more powerful, and he poured all his cruelty and hatred in its creation. On this ring, he had engraved "One ring to rule them all." With this, he managed to corrupt the 9 human kings who got rings, and turned them into its most dangerous servants, the Nazgul.
With this Ring, Sauron tenfold hiss power and with its armies of evil creatures, he began to invade the Middle-earth and establish his reign of terror. But one day, men and elves formed an alliance to fight the armies of Sauron on the lands of Mordor. The men and elves had the edge over the orcs, but unfortunately for them, Sauron comes in person, armed, and his ring on the finger.
Sauron begins to massacre the men and elves in his path, every blow that he gives has the effect of a shock wave that kills several soldiers simultaneously. But Sauron ends up being defeated by Isildur, the king's son, and without his ring, Sauron's body disintegrates and disappears, but the ring was able to corrupt the mind of Isildur, who kept it with him.
But despite this, Sauron had not died. With his ring, the spirit of Sauron survived and waited many years to regain its strength. As a huge eye of fire, Sauron remains protected in the land of Mordor, and sends its troops of creatures in search of his ring to regain his carnal form and all its power.

As Galadriel is the embodiment of good, Sauron is evil incarnate in the world of Tolkien.
Although he has no physical form, Sauron is everywhere. His spirit and his presence are felt all the time, hiding in the shadows and watching every doings of the Ring-bearer, Frodo Baggins. That's what I really admire in the character of Sauron: even if he is not physically here, he manages to achieve a sense of fear in the hearts of people, simply by his name. Everyone fears him, even the most powerful lords and kings, and Galadriel seems to be the only person powerful enough to be able to face Sauron.
In the third film of The Hobbit, Galadriel meets Sauron and faces him. This is the face to face personally, I really wanted to see and when I saw this scene in the cinema, I was like "Oh god, the two most powerful figures, face to face!" A very intense and impressive power duel. Galadriel managed to chase the spirit of Sauron without killing him, but against the power of the evil entity, Galadriel does not out unscathed of this fight, like injured and mentally weakened.
Sauron is never seen without his helmet. When he has his physical form, he constantly wears a very badass armor and really cool, I would absolutely got it, and his head is hidden by a terrifying helmet, that is really as badass! For me, among all the villains, Sauron has one of the best outfits, EVER!
Even the main characters of the story are afraid of Sauron because they know that if he can resume his ring, they will not be strong enough to fight and stop him. With his ring, Sauron seems invincible, and this is maybe the case.

To be the embodiment of evil in LOTR, inspiring fear and awe in the minds of people just by the name, and be one of the most powerful and badass villains, Sauron deserves its place in the list of iconic villains.

Hero of the Month - Edition N°5

Hellcome humans for the first edition 2016 of the "Hero of the Month."
To start the year, we will meet a young student, became one of the icons of the horror movies, for what she has done, but also for her tragic story: a lovely young girl with telekinetic powers, Carrie White.

Carrie White, played by 2 actresses:
- Sissy Spacek (1976), on the left
- Chloe Grace Moretz (2013), on the right

In the story, Carrie White is a student, daughter of a religious fanatic mother, and persecuted by her classmates since kindergarten. Carrie must undergo bullying every day, and her mother does nothing to help, on the contrary. Convinced that her daughter is a sinful, she regularly punished her daughter by locking her in a dark closet, for she can atone for her "mistakes". But one day, Carrie discovers she has a gift: telekinesis, and with this power, she is less weak towards her mother and begins to make her own decisions. Carrie White is invited to the prom by one the student of her class, Tommy Ross. That Carrie does not know is that other students, led by Chris, a girl who hates Carrie and wants to make her suffer, have planned a plan against her during the prom. Through a ploy, Carrie is elected prom queen, but Chris reveals her plan and dropped a bucket of pig's blood, placed in equilibrium above the stage, on the head of Carrie. Carrie, covered with blood and shocked again sees people making fun of her again and suffer humiliation. But this time it is too much. Carrie becomes like possessed by hatred and rage, and unleashes her telekinetic powers in the room. She kills many students and teachers during the panic, and uses her powers to put fire at the prom room and locks everyone inside to let them burn. Then Carrie begins to wander into town, taking revenge on everyone. Chris and her boyfriend, Billy, arriving by car and attempt to crush Carrie. But this time, Carrie uses her power to violently send the car into the ditch, the car explodes, killing Chris and Billy instantly. Then when Carrie goes home, her mother tries to kill her with a kitchen knife, but Carrie, injured and panicking, uses her power to send knives on her mother and kills her. Devastated by what she did, Carrie puts fire and surrenders herself to her fate, and lets the house in flames fall on her, killing her.

To start, I've seen both versions (1976 and 2013), and I have no preference. Both are very good in their own way. Carrie White is very cute, in both versions, and we can not ignore to be really sorry for her. Despite what she did, I can not put her in the category of villains, because she is not.
Carrie is shy, ill at ease and is the daughter of a fanatical hysterical, which earned her to become a martyr by others and be seen as abnormal.
Myself, I suffered mockeries and I was rejected all my schooling because I had different tastes and a different way of seeing things. So in a sense, even if she is a girl and I am a man, I see Carrie a little like my female double.
To be honest, I am with Carrie, at 100%. During the scene of the carnage in the ballroom, I was like "yeah, let's go Carrie, made them pay for what they did to you."
The fact that Carrie dies at the end made me feel bad, because she does not deserve it, but I think this is to add even more drama to the story and conclude it definitely. Carrie died as a martyr, but she will not go burn in hell, she found the peace she desired so much and can finally find her way to a better world.
RIP Carrie White

With her tragic history, Carrie deserves her place in the list of iconic heroes, and also in the "martyrs" heroes.

RockArtist review 1: Lemmy Kilmister

For this new year I decided to launch a new rubric and each edition will talk of a rock or metal musician. The broadcasts will be heading rather random and not once a month, like the others.
For this first edition, I had to talk about the badass No. 1, the legend of Rock N Roll, the one and only: Lemmy Kilmister.

Lemmy decided to start in music when he was still at school. He came with a guitar in the courtyard, and became surrounded by girls. Lemmy said to himself "this is a job for me". His favorite band was the Beatles. But, Lemmy not started by Motörhead.
In 1971, Lemmy joined Hawkwind, English space rock band, as bass player and singer. He still has no experience with bass guitar, but quickly knows how to develop a distinctive and unique playing style, strongly influenced by his past as rhythm guitarist. His bass playing was fundamental to the distilled sound by the group at that time. But the adventure with Hawkwind did not last long because in 1975, Lemmy was fired from the band after being arrested at the Canadian border, in possession of illegal substances.

Then Lemmy decided to form a band called Bastards, but the name is not really catchy and Lemmy changed the name in Motörhead, which remains the final name. In the early years, the group struggles to come forward because of their different and aggressive style. But with the years and album releases, Motörhead gained more and more notoriety, and is now considered as one of the pioneers of Heavy Metal.
During his life, Lemmy has consumed phenomenal amounts of alcohol and drugs, passing his life to destroy his body. But aside from that and behind its appearance of brutal and aggressive rocker, Lemmy was a generous man, kind, who liked his fans and was mainly playing music for passion. The money was never his priority and he preferred to live in a small apartment in Los Angeles rather than in a luxurious mansion. Lemmy was also a gentleman and he can not stand people who disrespect women. An anecdote tells that one day in a street in Los Angeles, he rescued a woman who was being attacked by an armed man. Lemmy liked girls and they liked him too. Lemmy has never been married, but as he liked to say "I had sex with girls on every continents."
Lemmy sadly passed away the December 28, 2015, just four days after his 70th birthday. He lived his life doing what he loved, and he played rock until the end, as the title of a song from the last album of Motörhead: Till the end.

Rock in peace Lemmy
You stay in our hearts forever \m/

DiscoveRock Edition N°5 - Frantic Amber

Hellcome humans for this new and first edition 2016 of DiscoveRock. To start the year, go to the discovery of a Swedish Death Metal band. Founded in 2008, Frantic Amber has for now several EP and only one album under his belt, but the group has already started his notoriety and already brings together a community of fans call Frantic Amber Army. The group created a fast style, dark and aggressive, while remaining melodic, in a Gothic and terrifying universe but also very attractive. Personally, my favorite member of the band is the singer, Elizabeth Andrews, who is among my favorite singers since I discovered her. Now my goal is to see the band in live, and I hope they will come in France one day.
If you like darkness, gothic things, the paranormal, fast, melodic and aggressive music, well, you will surely like Frantic Amber.

Members:
- Elizabeth Andrews: Vocals
- Mary Säfstrand: Guitars
- Mio Jäger: Guitars
- Madeleine Gullberg Husberg: Bass
- Mac Dalmanner: Drums
