Top 3: My First Favorite Bands

I'm a fan of many bands, but there are some that have most touched my heart. In this Top 3, I present the three first groups of this very long list that have touched my metalhead's heart. I saw these three groups in live, more than once, and each time, I came away both moved and really excited.

Motörhead
"We are Motörhead, and we play Rock N Roll!" They say that at the beginning of each concert, yes, it's the one and only Motörhead, one of the most legendary and memorable rock bands that have ever existed. When I discovered rock music, Motörhead was one of my first favorite bands and Lemmy quickly became my idol. I saw Motörhead twice in live for now, and I'm about to see them a third time. They are deemed to be the band playing the strongest in the world, and I am witness, it's true. Motörhead is described as a group of "Speed Metal" but I prefer to use the term "Rock N Roll band," because that's what they do.
Rock is Motörhead, and Motörhead is Rock! \m/

Lordi
I love metal and I love monsters. When I discovered Lordi, it was complete happiness for me. Lordi became famous by winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2006, and since then their reputation has grown a lot. Each member of the band has a character and a past, and I find it's a great idea, as Lordi is not just a band, it's a universe with its own creatures. For now, I saw Lordi three times in live, and the concert is a real show, almost like a theater play. My favorite member of the band is Hella, the keyboardist and a very sexy zombie doll.
Monsters of rock, they are for real! \m/

Halestorm
Ah Halestorm, I would say, one of my greatest discoveries of these recent years. I fell in love with their style immediately, their songs, and also, I'm fell in love with Lzzy Hale, the singer and guitarist of the band. She's super sexy, has a powerful and angelic voice and an incredible charisma. She has a look a tomboy that still attracts me and that I find so sexy. The group has three albums to his name at the moment, but their reputation is already huge and continues to grow over the years. I saw Halestorm twice in live for now. I was in the front row and Lzzy gave me a wink and a smile, one of the most beautiful moments of my life.
Yeah, I am a Freak like them! \m/

DiscoveRock Edition N°1 - Undobar

New topic that I create for my blog again, but this time about music. Every month, I will make discover a rock or metal band not really well known in the world, but who make excellent songs that deserve to be better known. This section aims to make some publicity and publicize groups that remain somewhat in the shadows and who deserve more recognition for the work they do.

For this first edition, I begin with a group of my country: France. Undobar is a duo formed in 2009 and already have three albums to their credit. Their music is a mix of blues / stoner, a bit slow and very dark. They also called their style, the "dark country." When you hear their songs, you're got in another world, where you imagine yourself in a giant and dark desert.
If you love dark styles and rather in the kind Stoner / Country rock, you'll surely love Undobar.

Members of the band:
- Frederic Foucher (vocals, acoustic guitars)
- Benjamin Danlos (chorus, electric guitars, percussions)

Who said men can not wear pendants?

Today, I decided to talk about something that concerns me a lot these last time and for me, is a complete idiot stereotype and con (I say yes both): the stereotype that men do can not wear pendants.
To start, I don't know who said it, but first: he's or she's an idiot, and second, whether he or she was in front of me, I will slap him (or her) and say: and since when?

The pendants have always been seen as essentially feminine accessories and many men refuse to wear because they say it's for girls. It's completely idiot, yes I repeat. There are many men who wear pendants, with patterns, but it remains pendants. There are even men who wear rings, bracelets or other, and they have no shame. Myself, I have several pendants (one with a metalhead cross, another with a tooth of crocodile ....) and I'm not ashamed to wear them in the street or in front of people.

All that to say, stop with these shitty stereotypes. The most important thing is to feel good as you are, regardless the style you have.

Hero of the Month - Edition N°1

The wicked are entitled to their own section with "the villain of the month", but the heroes are also entitled to their place. New section that I create today and I will also publish at the end of each month. One that will somehow compete with the wicked. Here is the first edition of "Hero of the month."

For this first edition, the hero of the month is: The last Targaryen, and for many, the last hope of Westeros. The mother of dragons, Daenerys Targaryen.

Daenerys Targaryen is one of the main characters of the series Game of Thrones, and I would say, one of the most important figures. She appears from the first episode of Season 1, and during the season, we follow her on her journey to form an army and return to Westeros to take the Iron Throne and avenge her missing family. Because yes, Daenerys Targaryen is the last member of the family that once ruled the Seven Kingdoms, but a rebellion destroyed her family and when she was baby, Daenerys was taken on another continent to be saved. But today, the young woman has thirst for vengeance. And the fate will help her at the end of the Season 1, because she becomes the master and the mother of three dragons.
A very interesting point with Daenerys is her evolution over the seasons. At the beginning of season 1, she appears to be a child, very shy, with a great lack of confidence and often belittled by her brother, Viserys, which manipulates her. Daenerys seems rather weak at first, and despite her young age, she was forcibly married to a Dothraki leader, Khal Drogo, who has twice her age. But with time and her new rank of khaleesi, Daenerys seems to take more confidence and can no longer be manipulated by her brother and she even dares stand up to him. But it's with the death of her brother and her husband, and the birth of her three dragons, that Daenerys really begins to change.

In the following seasons, Daenerys grows up, both physically and mentally, and she gets stronger and determined, making her own choices herself. She is no longer the little girl shy and submissive, but becomes a true queen, with a strong spirit and able to give orders and be tough when necessary. She wants to abolish slavery and give to the poor people a better life, and for that she doesn't hesitates to resort to force and her dragons to subdue and punish the tyrants. At first glance and physically, Daenerys is not very intimidating, but you should not underestimate her because the young woman can be generous and gentle, but also ruthless towards those who dare stand up to him. Daenerys also seems to have the power to resist the fire and has a very strong connection with her dragons. For me, Daenerys is not a mere human. As she said "the fire can not kill the dragon." This is a proof, she is the dragon!

With her strong mind and determination of conquering, her beauty, her story, her power and connection with the dragons, Daenerys Targaryen deserves her place among the most iconic heroes.

Villain of the Month - Edition N°2

Hi all and welcome to the second edition of this new section, the villain of the month.

Last month, for the first edition, I presented the Night's King of Game of Thrones. Well for the editing of this month, we will leave the medieval world to go into the intergalactic space, but we will stay in the horned villains.

This month, the big one is the Sith lord and one of the most epic Star Wars villains, Darth Maul.

In the six Star Wars movies (soon seven), Darth Maul only appears in the first, where he plays the role of the main villain. Maul's mission is to find the Queen Amidala and take her back on Naboo to force her to sign a treaty with the CSI and at the same time, Sidious commands to Maul to kill the two Jedi, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi Wan, that protect the queen.
One of the features of Maul is his appearance. He is not a human, but a Zabrak, a humanoid species from the planet Dathomir, characterized by the horns they have on the head. But Maul also has the face completely covered with red and black tattoos and his red eyes are so piercing, that we could think that he scans your soul and guesses your fears just by looking at you. The eyes of the born killer. Wow.
But also, in the movie, Maul doesn't talk much, which adds a even more dark and mysterious side, because we don't really know what he thinks. And when he speaks, he has a serious and sinister voice that suits perfectly to the character.
And another feature of Maul is that he has a double lightsaber and he uses it with incredible efficiency. Maul has a fighting style both very acrobatic and aggressive, which makes of Maul a formidable fighter and very difficult to overcome. Even two Jedi knights, at the same time, have difficulties to fight him. During the final battle, Maul even manages to kill Qui-Gon, one of the jedi and main hero of the film. But soon after, Maul is cut in half by Obi-Wan and falls into a pit, disappearing into nothingness.

But contrary to what one might think (WARNING Spoil) ......
Maul is not dead. Although he was cut in half, he used his Sith training to survive and in The Clone Wars series, he is found, half mad and lost, by his brother Savage Opress. Maul is returned to Dathomir or he receives the help of his brother and the mother Talzin, a night sister. With her powers, Talzin built robotic legs to Darth Maul to enable him to walk again, and she cured him of his madness to remind him who he really is. And of course, the first reflex of Maul is to want revenge of Obi-Wan.
Finally, as a Sith, Maul has a sadistic mind and use all deceptions to take over his opponent. During his fight for revenge against Obi-Wan, he doesn't hesitate to remind, sadistically, to the Jedi, that he killed Qui-Gon, and for the first time, Obi-Wan seems to be invaded by anger. Sadistic.

Dark. Strong. Cruel. Sadistic. All these words define Darth Maul, and for that, he deserves his place in the most epic villains.

See you next month for the Third Edition and to
discover a new villain.

A dislike button soon on Facebook? A bad idea!

One of my Canadian friends has speak of something that leaves me perplexed. Apparently, a new feature will soon be scheduled on Facebook: a dislike button. Seriously, WTF, and why?
Already I don't see the usefulness of such a thing, it's ridiculous. And also, I hope this is only a rumor, because if such a button is created, in my opinion, this could create problems, especially in the relationships with friends.
But seriously, who would dare to put a dislike to the publication of one of his friends? We may not like a publication, but then to put a dislike to the eyes of all? No, I refuse to do that. When I don't like something, I don't comment and I move on. I know Facebook is a place to publish and share, but it's also a place to have friends, liked and commented on these things, in the right mood. I don't want to create or have conflicts, and especially not with my friends, I'm not here for that. That is why I am against this button dislike, because it will only bring conflicts in my opinion. And if it is added, I would never use it. For me, absolutely no need of a dislike button.

My trip to Amsterdam / My first concert abroad

From September 8 to 11, I was traveling with my family, and I was for the first time in my life, in the Netherlands, in the city of Amsterdam. We stayed in a small and comfortable chalet in a very well organized and maintained campsite. The first two days we toured and visit the city and its different neighborhoods. Amsterdam is a beautiful city, with old buildings and water channels almost everywhere. The hotels downtown are very luxurious and seem really expensive, and in the evening, the city is bustling. The shops are also very interesting, and many sell t-shirts and accessories metalheads, a paradise for me. People are really nice too, they were cool with us. And we were lucky to have a good weather throughout all the trip. I buy many memories that I will wear with pride. I have not often traveled abroad, but this little stay in the Netherlands was an opportunity, especially before starting my correspondence courses, so I'm happy of my trip.

And great stroke of luck, during my trip to Amsterdam, I went to a concert, to see a French band whose I am very fan: Shaka Ponk. They played in a small concert room located at a short distance from the downtown area and I could, with my sister, having the opportunity to see them again, and I was not disappointed. Shaka Ponk were amazing, as usual. I managed to be in the front row during the concert. I usually don't care about the place, but this time, I was happy. And after an amazing show, another equally amazing thing happened: I got to meet and talk with members of Shaka Ponk, and I had photos with some members of the band. It was a dream come true for me: To meet Shaka Ponk and talk to them. I comes back from my trip with a big smile and memories that will remain etched in my memory forever. Thank you Amsterdam and Thank you Shaka Ponk! \m/

My second Ghost ritual, for December

3 July, 2014. This date means a lot for me now because this is the day when I saw the band Ghost for the first time, in live. As a child of Ghost (the name of the fans of the band), I experienced my first ritual, or I was somehow "baptized" as we might say in the world of Ghost. it's still one of the best times of my life today.

Me, after the show

Well, Ghost returns again this year in France during the month of December, in Paris, in a prestigious and renowned dining in the city: "La Cigale," and I can go back to see them in live! I will hear the songs of their new album, in live, and also see the new outfits of the Nameless Ghouls and also the new pope, Papa Emeritus III. I also hope that they will play old songs like "Secular Haze", "Monstrance Clock", "Ritual" or "Stand by Him", to name a few.
Look forward for the Ritual!

(SPOILER WARNING) Stay Alive: you die in the game, you die for real.

As a big fan of video games and as a big addict of horror and paranormal, I was immediately interested in discovering this film. Stay Alive, a horror movie that mixing the world of geeks and video games to the world of fear, nightmares and death. Welcome to a world or even the best entertainments can become your biggest threats and cause your loss.
Stay Alive, the only game that can kill players for real! This is my personal analysis of the movie.

Quick summary. The film tells the story of a group of friends, who after the mysterious death of one of them, decide to meet to try to change their minds and want to test a new video game horror: Stay Alive, which belonged to the victim, who had played just before being murdered. The game was created by an unknown person and is based on the life of Elizabeth Bathory, known as the bloody countess, a woman who lived in the 16th century and whose the legend is well known because of the atrocities she has committed. But soon the band of friends will realize that a curse is on this game and is directly related to the Countess Elizabeth, returned from the dead to continue her macabre killings. The band of friends must therefore do everything to stay alive because if they die in the game, they die for real.

The film was not well received and has been much criticized, but I have some difficulty to understanding why. Ok it's not the film of the year or the century, but it is not bad. The scenario is original and correct, and it is consistent. The actors are believable and play their roles properly. The characters are not too stereotyped and they are endearing, we don't want them to die, and some scenes are sad (The death of Phineus, and his sister October, crying at the sight of her brother dead, and the scene or October is killed too....) So bad, they were cool characters, but it is a horror movie, some must die. The atmosphere is really dark and oppressive, we can feel the threat above the band of friends during their adventure, or they are trying to survive, both in the game and also in real life. Creepy. The Countess Bathory and the other ghosts appearing in the film are creepy as desired and really put pressure at some times. If I had to describe Stay Alive in a few words, I would say "a good movie unfairly underestimated."
Not the movie of the year, but a very good entertainment that I recommend highly.

For those who don't know it and as I said, Elizabeth Bathory was a countess, but she was also a sadist and a killer without mercy, and she has really existed. She had a morbid passion for blood and its virtues that she considered as "curative and miraculous." So for several years, she killed young women to empty them and bathing in their blood, believing that this would ensure her the eternal youth. According to estimates, more than 600 young women were killed between the walls of the castle of the countess. At that time, as a countess and from a noble and rich family, Elizabeth Bathory was untouchable and unimaginable that she can commit such crimes. But one day, her secret was discovered and she was arrested. But again, as a countess, she could not be executed. She was therefore doomed to remain locked in a room of her castle for the rest of her life, while her accomplices, several servants, were tortured and executed.
Elizabeth Bathory, now known as the "bloody countess" died the August 21, 1614 and was buried at the Church of Cachtice. And even today, her story continues to be told in documentaries and fictions. It would be her who would have inspired the myth of the vampire.
Even if what she did was really horrible, the legend of Elizabeth Bathory really fascinates me. I watched a lot of documentaries and I have read many things about her and her story.
