Villain of the Month - Edition N°1

I've always been a big fan of fictional villains and I love many of them, and as the appearance of my blog has been done so that the forces of evil can feel at home, I decided to pay tribute to all those villains that marked my mind, but as surely yours.
This new section is called "Villain of the Month" and I will publish one at the end of each month, to designate the best villain of the month.

And the villain of the first edition is: the true king from beyond the wall and also king of death, the Night's King.

Surely one of the most disturbing and mysterious characters in the Game of Thrones series. Initially rarely seen (in one scene, and fairly short), where he transformed a human baby into one of his own. Creepy. But the Night's King finally showed his true colors during the episode 8 of Season 5 of Game of Thrones, where we could see the extent of his morbid power.

The Night's King is not alone: he is the king of the white walkers, legendary creatures and humanoid immortals who are feared by everyone. And he also controls an army of living dead, the wights, who are actually human corpses that the Night's King brought back to life thanks to his power. And yes, the Night's King has the power to bring the dead back to life. Badass 1000+.
Even if he does not participate in the battle, you can feel the threatening shadow of the Night's King over the battlefield, and when he arrives on the dock after the battle, to watch the survivors fleeing on their boat , without saying a word. You can see the look of the Night's King, terrifying and chilly as if he judged your soul.
And it was after that we see a scene that marked my mind forever: the Night's King gently raising his arms as if to impose his supreme domination, and suddenly all the corpses of humans open their eyes and rise up, under the gazes of the survivors, horrified. Epic scene.
For now the Night's King only appeared in rare scenes, but already we can see that he is not an opponent to be taken lightly. And what makes him even more mysterious and terrifying, is that we don't know why he does that. What is his real purpose? For now the mystery remains, but we will certainly know more in the next seasons.
One of his most epic scenes and when he and his army attack the children of the forest, to kill Bran and the Three-eyed Raven. Night's King demonstrates that he is able to see Bran in the visions and can impose his mark on anyone touched by his hand. And even more epic, the Night's King and its white walkers walk in the middle of a wall of fire, and the flames diverge in front of them. BAAAADAAAASS! The Night's King manages to kill the Three-eyed Raven, but Bran managed to escape.
In any case, the Night's King deserves its place in the list of memorable and epic villains.

Monster Man: Funny little horror comedy

On youtube, it's quite rare to find entire movies in French, but I managed to find one that I didn't know, but whose the title interested me: Monster Man.

To summarize the film, the story is set somewhere in the United States, in a remote location. Adam and Harley, two friends are on the road to attend the wedding of one of their high school friends, and on the way, they'll meet Sarah, a young girl who was hitch-hiking. But soon the trip turns into infernal pursuit race, because the trio is chased by a Monster Truck, driven by a man disfigured with scars everywhere and a glass eye, which looks more like a monster than a human. But the reason of the pursuit is far more sinister yet, but I'm not going to spoiler everything.

Monster Man seems to be a low budget film, but still, not bad at all. I would not say it's a horror film, but rather a gory comedy. Adam is a very shy guy and missing a lot of confidence, and also is a maniac and hates what is dirty. While Harley, it's the opposite, he's a completely confident guy, always relaxed and wants to make valves, and he likes to talk about girls. The character of Harley made me laugh a lot because virtually all of the best funny scenes are with him, for example, when he dreams he embraces a girl while in fact he embraces the carcass of a dead animal tabled in the room by the killer. Disgusting but funny. It's a film to not to be taken seriously but with humor. Although it's funny at times, the film can also be quite gory, with some scenes that I don't recommend for sensitive people or people who have the stomach too fragile. But again, the gory scenes are usually with a touch of humor. For example, the scene or Adam thinks eat a chile con carne, but realizes that he ate a piece of a dead person served with the meal. Disgusting, but funny.

Some of the most intense scenes of the film, I would say that it is the chase scenes with the Monster Truck. Adam has a small car that can do nothing against the monstrous vehicle of the killer. Moreover towards the end of the film, Adam's car was crushed by the wheels of the Monster Truck while Harley was still inside, however, he survived because he was under a corpse which was crushed instead him. It's so silly and improbable that it becomes funny.

The monster of the film (the Monster Man) his real name is Bob, but he is known by locals as "the Demon". Harley calls him "rotten face." XD
Bob seems to be known and feared in the region, and he even mutilated and killed several people over the years because during the trip, Adam and Harley noticed many people with amputated legs or arms, that have been victims of the Monster Man. In the film, we also learn how Bob became a disfigured monster and about the intentions that motivate him to maim and kill people, but I will not say more.

To finish, Monster Man is not the film of the year, but it is entertaining, funny and gore. Ideal for the horror comedy lovers.

Sexism about fictional female characters

Today I want to talk about this subject: the sexism about the female fictional characters. I am one of the men who have great respect for women and that consider them as the equal of the man, which is totally true.
In the games, movies, or others, women are often depicted as weak, unable to defend himself, and I hate that. I have several fictional loves, but all of them have one thing in common: they are strong women, with a strong spirit, and able to kick ass and kill to defend themselves. If you want to see my fictional loves, there is a special page dedicated to them on my blog (look above to find the link)
And another thing I hate: the guys who see female characters only as sex symbols. No, guys, this is not just a body with breasts. In general, you can easily guess the mentality of these guys, some by seeing the drawings they make and they publish, and which represent the female characters, but with huge breasts or completely nude. I find this completely stupid and uninteresting, and also disrespectful. I make drawings of my fictional loves, but I represents them as they should be: natural (and if you don't believe me, go on my Deviantart page: http://dark-rider28.deviantart.com/)
And then stop to find any pretext to transform women's breasts into weapons (eg, machine gun canons in the breasts of a female robot?) Completely ridiculous, and especially another example of ingrained sexism.
I can see the outer and inner beauty of a woman, but unfortunately many men are not able, and only see women as sex objects. And it's the same with fictional characters. When I fall in love with a fictional character, I like her physical and her face of course, but also her personality and her way of thinking. I love them with my heart and my mind, and not with my dick, as most do unfortunately (Oh and a message for the sexists or pervers who could read this article: your brains are in your head, not under your belt, okay?)

Special Concert Birthday

Two days ago, I celebrated a rather special birthday for me, because a year ago, to the day, August 10, 2014, I saw for the first time in my life, in live, three of my favorite artists, in the same show: the beautiful Tarja Turunen, the dynamic band Airbourne, and the legendary Motörhead!
The evening marked my mind forever, and it's with a great nostalgia and great joy that I remember all these wonderful memories, those pictures I took of this memorable Hard Rock Session and I am happy and proud to have been able to participate. I will soon see again Motörhead, for the third time, and if ever Airbourne and Tarja come back to France, I would be really glad to see them again too.
Keep Rockin! \m/

Top 3: my Favorite Star Wars Villains

The Star Wars universe is filled with villains cults and incredible, but I like some of them more than others. I like many villains of the SW universe, but here are my top three favorites.

1. General Grievous
In first place, the most dangerous and powerful General of the droid army: Grievous. He has a tragic past and was manipulated by the Sith. Formerly organic, it has become a very powerful machine and dedicated to one thing: exterminate the Jedi, whom he considers them as responsible for his fate. I also admire Grievous for his personality and also for his unique fighting technique with lightsabers, such as when it's rapidly turn his lightsabers as if it were circular saws, or when he uses his four arms at the same time, he becomes even more dangerous. Grievous is truly unique, with a strength and agility out of the ordinary, he can overcome a battalion of clones without problems and he managed to spread terror among the Jedi during the Clone Wars, and just to hear his name gave chills to certain Jedi.

Respect.

2. Darth Maul
One of the most dangerous Sith, in my opinion. Darth Maul doesn't talk much in the first film, but that's what makes him darker and more disturbing. The first time I saw Maul, I immediately liked the character. His gaze that freezes the blood, and also his fighting technique with his double lightsaber. Maul mastery the force very effectively and he manages to do stunts and acrobatics that left me gaping at my screen. Also, he can face two Jedi simultaneously and give them much trouble. Maul even managed to kill a Jedi master, Qui-Gon Jinn, which is one of my favorite jedi of the Star Wars universe.

3. Cad Bane
I discovered Bane in the Clone Wars series, and I liked this character. First by his rather cynical character and relaxed face to the situation, and also by its very cool outfit, with his big hat and coat, like the outlaws from the time of the conquest of the west. I admire Cad Bane also because he managed to escape the Jedi several times, even to escape Obi Wan, Windu and Anakin Skywalker, and also, he managed to break into the Jedi Temple and steal a holocron without get caught. With his blasters and rocket boots, Bane can fly around his enemies while strafing them from all sides. Badass. I always liked villains like him, able to cause big troubles to those who are more powerful than him.
