Movies about Music Bands

Several groups have already played in movies, but some even create their own films, playing the main roles, nice or nasty. Today, I talk about three movies I've seen, with known groups.

Dark Floors (Lordi)
Horror/Fantasy

Horror movie, or the famous Finnish group, Lordi, plays the role of infernal monsters in a sinister hospital. A group of survivors trapped in the huge building and absolutely must find a way out, but the monsters are there, determined to prevent them from reaching their goal. Although the film is quite short and the scenario seems basic, the film plunges us into a very sinister and mysterious atmosphere, or we often wonder "why" or "how." The Lordi members play their roles of monsters with perfection, and there are several kinds: Awa, the ghost woman who passes through the walls. Kita, the monster that wants to devour human flesh. Ox, the big bully who destroys the doors and walls. Amen, the monster that tears the hearts of his victims and that can trigger sandstorms, and Mr. Lordi, the lord of the monsters and uses darkness as a weapon to catch its preys.

Electroma (Daft Punk)
Drama/Science Fiction

After the horror, drama. Two robots (Daft Punk), live in a futuristic world where everyone is alike. Our two heroes want to become humans at all costs, but unfortunately for them, will never manage, and, convinced that no one will ever understand them and that they will never achieve their dreams, they kill themselves rather than remain machines throughout their lives. The outstanding feature of this film is that there is no dialogue, but the two robots make us feel their emotions through their helmets, with astonishing efficiency. Personally, this film made me shed tears for the scenes or two heroes die, are certainly very sad, but beautifully played. You can feel their pain and their wish to die rather than remain robots. Although the film does not end well for our two heroes, this film is a masterpiece, that always makes me shed tears every time I watch it.

KISS meets the Phantom of the Park (KISS)
Fantasy/Musical

The most legendary rock band of the world appears in this fantasy little film. Group members play their own roles, but this time, they have powers, like super heroes. Paul Stanley can send lasers with his eyes and listen to conversations remotely. Gene Simmons has superhuman strength and can spit fire from its mouth. Ace Frehley can teleport and Peter Criss has a superhuman agility. Together, they will have to defeat Abner Devereaux, an employee of an amusement park, which turns out to be a mad scientist who turns people into robots. This film is really freindly, also I thank my two Canadian friends, Emily and Brayden, for making me discover this film. The idea of a rock band with powers, who faces a scientist and an army of evil robots, is rather original and fun. Some scenes make me laugh, and some sentences also (like the famous "Hi Curly" of Ace Frehley, I never get tired lol)
